| Lowes Foods to Go
Hi, y'all, I nearly exclusively shop via Lowes Foods to go, placing my orders via the web. I find that I spend less money and benefit from the convenience. I have a large family so my greenpoints pay for the service each time. Are there any others here that shop this way? Any tips? TIA, Patty |

Hi Patty! Welcome to the Lowes forum!! I am in Kernersville! I have never used Lowes To Go, but my neighbors do and they really like it. Maybe some others will chime in with their experiences!

I've used it once or twice.. and many people do like it.. I just wish the coupons savings would got towards that shopping instead of the next ones.. When I lived up north they would take the coupons off then and there and I liked that much better.. but it really is the same savings.

I agree that I wish the paper coupons were instantaneous. I like that the insta-save is. I often forget about those and therefore am treated when I look at my receipt. As a homeschooler with at least a slightly large family I am grateful for the service as I feel like it gives me much more time with my family. Nice to meet y'all! Patty |

haha! It is! I used to do the Lowed Food to go because I didn't get things that weren't on my list, in turn saving me money. It was also great to use b/c sometimes with my hubby's schedule I had all three kids, or the weather was bad or I just didn't have time. I don't use it much now b/c his schedule has changed and my grocery shopping is my "me" time. I thought about starting back up though, but I do enjoy my "me" time! LOL

Lowes Foods also gives you 50 points for reuse of bags, this only applies to bags that they reuse for your order. So if you take your bags back to LFTG each one they reuse you will recieve 50 points! Hope this is helpful!

I actually made several shopping bags from upholstery remnants I found at an outlet and I just leave a set when I go each week and I do get the 50 pts. They will reuse their own paper bags, though, too. Just make sure to label what's yours. The points add up and since I use points for the service, I'll take all I can get! |

I used this service alot on and off at the times I worked 80 hour weeks - it helps MUCH to do a couple of things: 1) Make friends with your personal shopper; find out what day they work the week you are shopping and always use the same shopper. Take them little gifts. They get to know your preferences and it makes it MUCH easier to get the right products with savings into your bags. 2) There is a specific PLU for getting the greenpoints for bringing your own bags, PLU#8111. I write on my online order that I will be bringing X number of bags and to go ahead and credit my account, with the PLU # listed. It works every time for instant credit. 3) Saving your core shopping list of things you need every week as a separate list saves time. There are several distinct advantages to using this service: I agree that using a shopper is well worth the fee, and you DO save alot of money when you see your total add up with everything you add to your list - it curbs impulse shopping tremendously. It can also yield you fresher cuts of meat, if you ask your shopper to order what you want directly from the butcher station in back instead of picking up what's prewrapped out front. It's also GREAT for triples, because your personal shopper will pre-shop the sale and pull items from the shelf that you request the day before triples start. Glad to hear that other couponers use this service, I thought I was the only one!

I agree wholeheartedly with getting to know your shopper. Tracie is dear to me and knows it! I have learned she likes movies and so I take her small gift cards to blockbusters or to the local cinema and she truly appreciates it. And I win. She'll even tell me when white potatoes are not good or swap larger quantities when it will save me money. She also does not question my coupons. I appreciate that! Thanks for the heads up on putting the PLU on the online order. That is much appreciated! |
