I called a few stores just out of curiosity about the Long's to CVS switchover.

One Longs in town is closing it's doors completely (which STINKS! It's so close to me!). The others I talked to didn't give a definite date. However, one told me that they're already getting some CVS policy updates and are receiving CVS product. The change will be over the next year or so. They will be owned and run by CVS, but will continue to operate as Longs for about a year.

So, if you're expecting an immediate switch to CVS, you may want to call your local store and find out.

Personally, I'm sad. I'm going to miss Longs. But, we already have 2 CVS's in town, so I understand why some people want the switch more quickly. I would rather have CVS, Wags, Rite Aid, and Long's. But, it's not for me to decide. :/

Personally I am an occasional Longs shopper (we have 2 in town). I just started CVS'ing late last year and love them. I have 2 CVS' 30 miles away from me (2 different towns) and am very excited to get one in town. My main worry is the loss of jobs.

I'm excited about the switch (I just read about it this morning). We have a Long's about 10 miles away so I'm hoping when CVS comes, we might get some better deals!

We got our local news paper yesterday and the ad was for Longs/CVS but it looks like the CVS ad not the Longs one!!! There are no ECB's, very disappointing. I hope they come back soon.

A year?? I hope it doesn't take a year because we don't have ECB deals in the flyers and I won't be shopping there if there's no ECBs!

I just went to LONGs today, few mins up the street from me. Just to check it out..cause I like never shop there. Their ad says Longs/CVS and they had a thing to fill out for 2% back on purchases..some card so I did..and it says CVS on the card..extra care pays you back. There have never been any CVS stores in my area so I had no idea what it was..I guess maybe I should start reading up about the CVS deals. I will ask my local store if they plan on switching over fully, becoming soley CVS..as in changing the name and starting to do all the same deals that you all talk about on the CVS threads.. I'm curious now. Only good store for deals here is walgreens and that just came in november and they now took away the easy saver...so im kinda bummed..

anyhow...now im curious. guess ill have to call and ask them.

All of our Longs are switched over already, just still the Longs/CVS ad with no ECBs.

CVS did buy the company(longs) if you have any questions call cvs customer care dept. do sign up for the extra care card, will save you money on the long run,maybe they will send some coupons to use a cvs their number is 1-800 shop cvs.Have fun cvs is a great store.thanks mackenzie

I'm in San Jose. Our Longs ads now says Longs/CVS. But there are no ECB's. I sure hope we get them!

Same with most of you all. Our Long's have CVS products in them, CVS coupon printers, CVS receipts... but no ECB's!

Ok well this is exciting. I went into a different Long's today and they had a table right in front with their CVS cards and signs about ECB's etc! The cashier was so nice, I explained that I do have a card, but had left it at home (I got one last year when my son left for college in SoCal where they have CVS stores). He told me to bring back my receipt from today with my card so that they could give me credit for today's purchase. They also had a machine for automatic card coupons, you swipe your card and it loads coupons onto it.
