My shoulders and back are sunburned and it hurts. Going to send hubby to wags to pick something up. Any recommendations ? Thanks

Hubby said all they had at wags was solarcaine and the wags brand of solarcaine so he got me the wags brand cuz it was 2.00 cheaper. Is the wags stuff the same as the the name brand stuff ? Hubby said ingredients were the same.

Take a hot shower. It sounds ridiculous, painful and counter-intuitive, but it works!

I have extremely pale skin and my dad swore by hot showers. Turned out he was right, it works immediately. Somehow it releases the heat in your skin.

Solarcaine works great. Aloe straight from the plant is best, but Ocean Potion is my fave. Put it in the fridge , pop some advil too or Benadryl. Helps.

Best thing I found was afterson lotion feom the dollar tree. My skin is very picky and this made it feel ten times better. And its only 1

Vanilla or vinegar, either one will work. Soak a rag and just pat it on the burned areas and let it air dry and it will pull the heat from your burn. More often than not you will not peel and you won't get the tight dry skin that you get with the burn gels.

The vinegar may take your breath away while wet but will dry without odor. In my experience the vinegar is actually the better of the two. Last summer dd's boyfriend applied sunscreen everywhere except his feet and didn't realize it. After we came in from boating all day he showed me his feet and they were burned to the point of being PURPLE. I had him actually soak his feet in a dishpan full of vinegar. The next day they were a normal color with no pain, he wore regular shoes and his feet never blistered or peeled.

I've been told to use olive oil. It takes the sting out.

I had a bad sunburn on my back recently and I applied aloe gel with lidocaine (takes away pain) and menthol (cools). Then after that dried I applied a layer of Banana Boat aftersun lotion and it felt great!

We used to use a tea soaked towel when I was growing up.

I always recommend pure aloe though. I have some on hand from GNC just in case.

I soak a brown paper bag in the white vinegar it works beter than anything and I have ben a nurse since 1981!

I had second degree burns on both shoulders this summer and ended up missing four days of work. A prescription of silvadene from the doctor worked awesome. I went from blistering and raw skin to completely cured and able to work in four days. I had thought I'd have to take of much more b/c I work in a LTCU at the hospital and am afraid (okay ... paranoid) of getting MRSA.

Oil of Okay has a lotion for deep healing that worked great on the sunburn I got earlier in the year. That one didn't blister, just dry and pealing skin.

I always put all natural yogurt on a bad burn. It helps pull out the heat and repair the skin very quickly.
