I also have the IUD Mirena and so far, I love it.

I was always horribly moody on the pill and I'm kinda icked out by the rings and things that I need to ... well, install myself.

I hope everything works out well for you.

Its not cheap I want to say my insurance was billed like $700. I'm not sure on that though. I still think it is totally worth it. Its good for 5 years so split that up and its like $12 a month and you dont have to remember anything like taking your pill changing the Nuva ring or going in to get a shot. It hurt a little when it was put in but I had also just had a baby so my pain tolerence may have been a little higher than most.

Mirena has a website with all the info. I would just do a search for that. I know I looked at it before I got one.

Ok... I HATED the shot!! I put on 60 pounds with it!! I did stop getting periods with it but I think it's birth control becaues no one wants to sleep with someone who's gained 60 pounds.

A friend was on the nuevo ring, it's just an O-ring that you replace monthly. She liked it, but it was 20$/month and she had issues with it a couple times during sex (one time it came out).

I have issues with the pill...for some reason I get violently ill on it...I've tried all the diffrent varieties over the years. I told my doctor that if I go in for a Csection I'd like to have my tubes tied, otherwise I am going for the IUD.

The think with the nuva ring and sex is...and the doctor will tell you...if you feel discomfort or have problems with it durring...you can take it out, and then put it back in RIGHT AFTER, or at least my doctor said that is okay, but I would talk to your doctor about all of that, just to be sure...I take mine out, when I...well...and I havent had any problems with it!

I have to agree about the shot...it is well known for weight gain and mood swings...That would be the last thing I would recommend to anyone!

I pay $16 a month for mine, which is not to bad of a price I dont think! The pills run about the same, so there is not much of a difference! I think it is the best, I just love it, and would recommend it to the world....

I have not tried the IUD, but I have heard good and bad from them, so I will just stick to my nuva, It does the job, and is not painful, and I dont have to remember a pill everyday, and worry if I am going to get prego if I miss! LOL!

I have the mirena IUD as well and I love it! For me-I have not even had a period since getting it, no mood swings or anything. I think I may have started getting Ovarian Cysts though just in the last month. I haven't seen my Dr. about it yet, but honestly that is the only negative thing I can think of to say about the Mirena. It's awesome!

I know my insurance was charged around $800 but luckily I had just reached my out of pocket minimum so it was completely paid for.

I only had to pay a $20 co pay for the IUD (mirena) and my regular office co pay, so I am not sure what it would cost OOP. I had mine in for 7 months and when I went for a check up an ultrasound revield that it had moved ( started to silde out, I could not feel it though). I had to have it removed. I really liked it ( out side of the irregular spotting for the first 3 mo) . They offered to put another one in, but I was too chicken it would happen again. Even after what happend to me, I would reccommened it.

All I had to pay was the insurance co-pay but when we got an invoice from them it was like between $800.00- $900.00 .... but you got to remember its lasts for 5 years
