Abby has been cutting her first tooth the past couple of days. Her morning nap has been really affected but her nights have been normal. Until tonight. Normally she goes to sleep between 7:30 and 8:00. I tried tonight and she faded some, but started crying once I put her down. I tried to let her cry some, and it was intermittent crying for a while, but I broke down and gave her Tylenol then more of her bottle that she didn't drink all of. It's expressed breast milk. She faded then woke immediately when i tried to put her down. So I came down stairs and got two Hyland's teething tablets, which she doesn't seem to like much lately. Well I then picked her up and went to rock her some more. I sat down and EVERYTHING from dinner at 6:30 to her bottle came up in waves all over her and me. My question is, should I try to feed her more? She seems fine...been squealing and happy and awake since we cleaned her/me up and changed her and brought her down stairs. She puked probably about 8:50 or so and it's now 9:37. I mean she puked all of it up. I could either give her a bottle of breast milk or try to nurse her. We don't have any Pedialite or anything like that. And I'm not going to give her more Tylenol even though she likely puked it up. Thanks for any help, guys. She hasn't ever really puked like this before except for last Sat. when a piece of sweet potato was too big and triggered her gag reflex and all her dinner came back up. So basically she hasn't been sick at all and she's got no temp. either (98.7). Can you tell this is my first? LOL

Hey Emily. I wouldn't really worry about it if she's acting normal and isn't lethargic or really sick. Teething can do some pretty weird things to babies. My son would sometimes throw up for no apparent reason and after was just fine, like he just needed it out. I wouldn't worry about her getting dehydrated or anything, if it's only one bottle she'll eat again when she's hungry and be fine till then. Hopefully that tooth will cut through soon and the major discomfort will end. And you and Abby can both be happy! Oh, I told my other sons how beautiful Abby is and that I was gonna hook Sawyer up with her! LOL.

One of my girls has been puking for no reason lately. I think she can't handle any chunks in her food yet plus she has a little cough which gags her. I usually try to feed her again a little while after she pukes if everything came up. Good luck!

My son is going through the same thing right now. He just starting teething. I have two other kids 3 and 2 and they did the same thing as well. I would not give her another bottle unless she starts crying. Try giving her baby Ibprofen, they make and infant concentrate. Ibprofen is easier on a baby's tummy then acetametaphin, aka Tylenol. Be careful of dosage though, do not overmedicate. Also, try giving her an ice cube wrapped in a wet washcloth. She will chew at the washcloth and that will help break the skin for the tooth, as well as cool and numb the area. There will be some blood when it breaks through, but nothing to worry about. Once the tooth has broke, she will do fine. This will happen with the first 6 teeth, then it will just become a nuesence to her rather than you. Oh, you may wabt to add 1 scoop of formula and 2 oz. of water to your breastmilk, so she gets the nutrients and vitamins, or you can just add some vitamin drops. Dont fret, it will be over soon!!! Hugs!!!

Must be in the air- my 10 year old just got sick- she feels much better now and is off to bed! Let's hope she is ok in the morning-no other symptoms- very strange! I hope yours is alright, and you and she both get a good night's sleep and feel great tomorrow!

I second the suggestion of Ibuprofen. My dd got her first 2 teeth at the same time at 5 months, and infant tylenol did not do the trick. At her 6 month check-up, the dr. said I could give her children's motrin (3/4 tsp) since she was a bigger baby (18 lbs). I didn't have any vomit issues, but it seemed like she wanted to nurse all of the time when she was teething. I am wondering when the next ones will come. Hang in there because after a few days, she will be back to normal ![]()

She slept fine and was still up before 8:00, LOL. She's as happy as can be this morning. She's watching Pinky Dinky Doo and chewing on a toy now. Off to breakfast! Thanks again for all the help!

I pm'd you with some ideas-things that worked with my son. He started getting teeth at three months, and got one a month for 18 months. And he had colic for 6 months. Motherhood is not for sissies! Good luck & hang in there!

Thanks for all the help. She's napping now. It took a while and some tears for her to fall asleep, but she didn't have her "normal" 12 hours last night so I think she was still tired. She normally does take a really good morning nap and it's just been the past few days that she's cried and not wanted to take one. But hopefully she's getting some rest now.
