| BPA in microwavable canned products???
I just read this link about how BPA has been linked to increased aggression in girls and it mentions several things, once of which is "canned products" are these the cans that are lined with plastic? Also could the plastic from the microwavable meals and soups also be a problem? This has been something I've been wondering about for a long time!!!

Cans that have BPA would include canned veggies and canned fruit, cans of baby formula (not much point in buying those 'bpa-free bottles if the formula is spiked with bpa, huh?) as well as cans of soft drinks/beer. I'm sure there are more examples, but these are the few things off the top of my head. As far as your frozen meals, it would depend upon what kind of plastic the tray is made out of. Personally, my family forgoes heating anything in plastic in the microwave. I replaced all our Rubbermaid type containers that were used to store/reheat leftovers in the microwave with glass containers like Pyrex and Anchor. We opt for fresh, 'whole' foods altogether and stay clear of processed dinners and soups. I'm sure you could Google 'bpa and plastics' and find a whole slew of information as well as some other examples than what I gave you. I would leave links, but I don't know if we're permitted. HTH! |

I wouldn't go overboard with worry, but a little caution never hurt. Certainly it would be a small adjustment to microwave things in glass or ceramic instead of plastic and cutting out things like soda is cost efficient and healthy.
