Hi Celexa Anyone???

Wondering if anyone here takes Celexa and has it worked for you. I just got it but havent started taking it. Just the thought of taking pills gives me anxiety . I have anxiety and depression. I used to take zoloft but it never helped me any at all. So anyone got any thoughts let me know.

I take it 60 mg at night every night I have severe depression for 15 yrs since 1994 when I woke to find my son dead at age 2 weeks from heart failure. This year the birth and death anniversaries pasted with out any major issues. Celexa works for me

I take it too

I went to the doctor and told him I feel like I was wired keyed up all the time. I tend to be one of these people who feels like I can't delegate and can do it all myself NOT!!! Depressed is not what I would call it. More like worn out. It has helped me calm down so to speak. After I started taking it I was in a wreck not because of that because someone hit me in the rear. So I am not sure I have benefited as much as I could cause I have been mean because of pain. I think I might ask the doctor to increase my dosage. I think mine is 20mg

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know it has to be very tough on you, but I am glad to hear that you are doing better. Thanks for the information.

I have taken it in the past for anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It worked for me. I think I had the 20 or 40 mg. I had to take it at night bc it made me sleepy.

I start taking it tomorrow. Mine came in a hard pack thing from Walmart. It has the weeks on them starting on Monday. I didn't realize it but do you have to go by that or can you take them anyday

Walmart has changed some of their packaging. I think it is to help people remember to take their pills. You can look to see if you took your dose that day. I got a prescription for another medication several weeks ago and I thought they had given me the wrong one since it wasn't in a bottle.

I have been on Zoloft off and on for years for depression. About three months ago, my husbands job was in jeopardy and I literally lost it. The Zoloft was doing nothing for me. I was in a constant state of anxiety and depression. It is very difficult to get in to see a psychatrist, but I was able to hold on until I saw one. He prescribed Celexa for me. I was ready to give up at first because it seemed to take a lot longer to "kick in" than the Zoloft did in the past. He did give me a prescription for Klonopin, which helped to tide me over until the Celexa kicked in. I have been on it for three months now and I love it. I feel so much better. My husband likes it because he said with the Zoloft I was more of a monotone mood, but with the Celexa, I have normal highs and lows like everyone else. I also don't think the sexual side effects are as severe as with Zoloft, but my DH may disagree. The best part is that the prescription is $4/month at Walmart.

Please keep up with your medication and remember that just because you are feeling better to no stop taking it. Hopefully this will be a one time thing for you and you will be able to wean off eventually. I will probably have to take an antidepressant for the rest of my life, but it makes me feel better to accept that and move on.

Well I was on zoloft 100mg for a long time. I have had anxiety and depression since 2001. The zoloft never seemed like I could tell any difference. I did know that if I missed it or something I was really snippy at people . But I just started taking the Celexa today at 20mg. Did notice I got some dizziness going on not alot and have been yawning ever since I took so I guess I will be taking it at bedtime from now on. Yea I did feel a little odd not sure if its from the med or my anxiety. I freak out when I take anything new. I go through all the panic thinking something bad Im sure some people know what Im talking about but the feeling was like an empty feeling or spacy I dont know . Thanks again for any info anyone has.

I actually have a doctor's appt on 11/5 to see my doctor about maybe changing my current prescription of Lexapro....it does work since it has curbed my panic attacks, but I don't feel better at all...if it was up to me, I could sleep all day...but I still get up and do all the things I am supposed to do like go to work and buy groceries and stuff...I just don't find any joy in doing it anymore...so not sure if I am just burned out or what (have suffered from panic attacks for 10 years) and this medicine has really helped....my doctor used to have me on Xanax for when I had a panic attack, but thankfully havent had to take those in a couple of months!! I was thinking of asking my doctor to maybe supplement the Lexapro or switch me over to something else...well ask about Celexa!! Thanks everyone for the great input!!
