| We just opened an insurance policy and they are charging us double because my husband it fifteen pounds under weight. Any idea's how I can get him to gain the weight. He has a very very fast metabolism.

Haha. So does mine. He's not underweight though. He eats twice as much as I do sometimes and he eats lots of things that aren't very healthy. Weightlifting can add pounds. Maybe whole milk - the protein and fat should help a little. I'm not really sure what else. My hubby wants to gain weight but he wants it all to be muscle and he doesn't lift weights even though we have some so I don't know how he's going to gain muscle the way he's going. |

| I was thinking Ensure also. I know they give it to cancer patience when they want them to gain weight.

they have stuff called weight gain at health food stores for body builders,or i can just send him some extra lbs i have |

I agree about the potatoes. Just wondering...does he drink a lot of water? I went through a period of time when I lost a lot of weight (not on purpose!). I stopped drinking water and ate more potatoes. It helped me!

I have very high metabolism and was also underweight This worked for me to gain about 10 # in a little over a month's time... Besides the 3 meals a day add healthy snacks in between. (Protein or granola bars or anything he likes and will enjoy) You can make him a smoothies.. coffee smoothie or fruit smoothie-- to which you add some canola oil for calories. I also agree with the potatoes. Figure out all the ways you can serve potatoes that he likes. Add milk whenever possible. Cheese + crackers too. Would he like bread pudding??? Have fun. | Thank you all for replying. My hubby eats everything, anything. He love's mash potatoes and gravy. Granola and yogurt. Ice cream. He enjoy's all foods. He does not gain but I sure do. I've gained a lot since being with him. He actually has lost six pounds from not eating so much fast food.

have him work on building muscle, its the only healthy way. lots of protein shakes post work out. i hate the weight guidelines, they don't leave much wiggle room as there are plenty of very healthy people who are under or slightly overweight.

Holy moly, never thought I would hear of an insurance company telling you to gain weight! When my dad was ill from chemo, and had to put weight back on, we went to GNC. We told the lady what we needed and she fixed us right up. There are so many protein powders out there, it can be overwhelming to try to pick one out on your own. HTH. |
