Anyone have a surgery to repair a hernia??? My DH created a hernia when he was trying to repair someone else's boat this past weekend. When to the surgeon to day to make sure he had one. He does and it requires surgery next Wednesday. Surgeon didn't give him much info about the surgery or DH didn't listen well because when he came back I asked him multiple questions and he couldn't answer them. Surgery shouldn't take long but anyone know how long of a recovery and what you can and cannot do after surgery??

my daughtere had a pretty big one repaierd when she was about 12 months old. her uterus was poking out the opening. the released her right after the surgery as soon as she drank a glass of water. she was totally fine the next day and the incisio looked like a tiny cat scratch. i am sure it will be a little harder with your dh as adults do't bounce back as easily as kids, but it really shouldn't he too huge a deal.

DH had it done twice. The thing with men is that they make them pee before they can leave. This avoids them coming back right away with prostrate problems. With someone stubborn it could take a while. He might have a weight restriction on lifting for awhile. that's about it, clare
