Did you know that you can get a 30 day supply of your medication for only $4 and a 90 day supply for only $10 at Kroger? Did you know that you can also get a flu shot there? Click below for more information on Kroger's pharmacy program! Kroger - Pharmacy Last edited by bette; 06-06-2008 at 08:39 PM. |

As a Kroger Employee, (and former Kro. Pharmacy Tech) it does depend on insurance for the 90 day supply and it depends on the RX for the discount.

Did you also know that MOST Kroger stores will honor competitors coupons for new or transfered prescriptions. I've used Ingles, Publix and Rite Ad at our store. They act like I'm the only one who uses this, but hey!!! $20 bucks last nigh on $5.55 worth of drugs. Not a bad deal!

Dropped off a prescription today for Ambien (wanted generic) and price was about $41, but I told the pharmacy tech that I didn't have insurance and she said there is some kind of discount card that Kroger has. With the discount, a 30 day supply went down to $10. WOW.

Shopped around my town for the cost of Chantix (stop smoking drug for husband). Kroger was the most expensive at $157, but the phamacist said they would price match. Walmart was $109.

There are times, when even if you DO have insurance, Kroger's pricing is better than your co-pay. So just tell the person working that you want that Rx "run as cash" and to make a note on your account for future reference. There is a list at the pharmacy counter that you can take with you, that gives better detail as to medications covered. Also keep in mind you may not see your medication listed, because most of the $ 4 / $ 10 are generics... so don't give up - it may be there - just as a generic. ALSO - big mistake... many people see "their med" listed... but don't realize there are various forms of "their med". For example: if you take a Rx that has XL, SR or CR on the end of it... those are extended release FORMS of that Rx... therefore the "extended-release" may not be covered... but the regular version is...So don't lose hope... communication is KEY. Talk to your Kroger pharmacist and ask them for advice and work together with your doctor to find the best option for you.

#2 - Kroger honors competitor coupons - just bring in the coupon - you will need to be a Kroger Plus Card member, as the savings are applied to your Kroger plus card. To be sure you have the credit - check your receipt as it will show if the credit has been added.

Just because you HAVE insurance does NOT mean you HAVE to use it! Believe it or not - there are MANY medications on Kroger's $ 4 & $ 10 lists which means there are MANY that are cheaper than your co-pay. Just ask the technician if your medication is on their list - if so - ask them to please make a note on that prescription that it is to be RUN AS CASH for all fills. $AVE, $AVE, SAVE!

| Competitor Coupon
We just transferred a prescription to Kroger and used a competitor coupon and it did work. This was yesterday. Also, for many of you that know of elderly that have Medicare - please pass on the idea of making sure they DO NOT run their insurance for those $4 and $10. That way it does not count against them for their total for the prescription medication plans through Medicare. This only makes sense for those that go in the hole as their coverage maxes. As the poster stated above, run what they can as CASH! |

also, i don't know if this is the whole chain or just my store, but the will price match all other stores prices. some of my meds are cheaper @ cvs or walmart, so they just match those prices.

It's up to the store whether or not they honor competitor coupons for GC offers. Mine will not honor them, BUT they had a $25 promo recently for a transferred script and it was technically 1 per customer, well I transferred over 3 scripts for 3 of us in our household and she gave me 3 different $25 rewards. AWESOME!
