They had big displays with a demonstator person there offering them to everyone!

Our 'demonstrator' was standing at the back of the store in front of the pkg'd lunch meats and gave me 2 bags - yummy!! Love free potato chips - thank you Kroger!

At my store they just put up a giant display in the front of the store with a sign that said 'free'. I took one, went to check out, and the lady in front of me had about fifty free bags in her cart. It really made me sad for her, and I'm surprised the cashier didn't say anything!

Im not trying to start anything, but why does it matter that she was paying with food stamps????? Can we please not judge!!

I agree it doesn't matter if she had food stamps. What does matter is she took 50 bags. That is taking advantage and the cashier should have said something. Ridiculous!!!

Since none of us were there except for Zuko Mai Love, let's assume this lady had been given permission to take more than one. Perhaps she had checked with management before entering the checkout line and the cashier knew all about it. Could she have gotten them to take to the homeless shelter or another legitimate location? There are usually 2 sides to every story.

Now.....to change the subject. What kind of chips did you choose?

Good point I didn't go, it's a little drive so I don't go unless I need fresh fliers or there are some good deals. My store doesn't double/triple anymore.

Wow sorry guys, it didn't sound offensive in my head. I'm not judging--I've been on food stamps before. It just frustrates me when people use their food stamps to buy a cart full of junk. I should have considered that not everyone lives in a neighborhood like mine, and would not be readily able to relate to the situation. I'm sorry.
