I just moved to an area with Kroger and had gone online and loaded coupons to my newly acquired store card only to find out when I went shopping yesterday that they would not allow me to use a manufacturer coupon. Has anyone else encountered this? Every other store I have been to considers these store coupons so I have been able to use both.

They changed their policy not too long ago so that you are not able to stack eQs with MQs. If you have an eQ loaded to your card it will use that and you will be unable to use your paper MQ. The downside of this is they will double (or at least my store does! If your store doesn't double you don't need to worry about this part!) paper MQs, but they don't double eQs so you have to be careful about what's loaded vs. what you have in paper MQs. I believe there are *some* stores which still allow you to stack eQs with MQs, but the general Kroger policy is that they don't allow the stacking.

Thanks for the info. That is exactly what happened. Once the ecoupons came off they would not allow the mfg coupons which had a higher value

I usually only add the eCoupons that are a higher value than my paper coupons or eCoupons for items that don't have paper coupons...which results in very few eCoupons loaded to my card.

Unfortunately there is no way for the store to override the eCoupons and allow you to use the paper coupons. Also, I have been told that there is no way for the store to help if you have an eCoupon that doesn't show up and come off your total.

Sometimes they have high value eCoupons, so it is worth checking in. They have coupons each day for the Cartbuster Sale starting Wednesday.

As to about if the eQ doesn't work, I make sure it worked while still at the register and if it doesn't then i have them remove the item because I most likely was only buying due to the coupon. You have to be watchful with this because sometimes they don't work.

I have had this happen to me a few times, but it is usually because I have forgotten what I have loaded on my card. I sometimes will load an eQ and then a week or 2 later I get a MQ that is a better value and I forget to take the eQ off my card. Now I am very diligent about printing my list of eQs from Kroger web site while I am planning my trips and before I go to the store. That way I can remove eQs that aren't as good. I also have the Kroger app on my iPhone so I can always check on eQs if I come across a really good deal.
