I just went in to get a few rain checks (toothpaste that was on sale for $1, instant Folgers and Lipton 20 oz) and the girl would only give me one for the toothpaste. She said they only do rain checks on the advertised deals?

Anyone else have this problem?

I was told limit 4 on rainchecks. Also I was told no rainchecks on Mega items which is actually against Federal LAW (mis-advertising not having item in stock for reasonable demand and not offering an alternative.) There's always Price Matching at Walmart I suppose!

I have never had this problem until tonight! He told me they could not do it unless it was in the ad... Said he knew they had done it before but they are cracking down now b/c we have some lady who thinks she is Gods gift to couponers here and now ever since she came out of the closet we never have anything left on the shelf (He did not use those exact words but I got his drift and knew exactly who they were talking about too) :P

I have been told in the past if it's not listed in the paper ad they can't write a raincheck for it

That's technically what a raincheck IS, it's for a price advertised in the ad that they ran out of, unless it's stipulated no rainchecks.

I'm in the Southeast, and I just used a rain check for the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step that was an unadvertised sale $4.49 this was not in the ad; and I was written a rain check and I used it yesterday paid just $0.49 for each I purchased.

Perhaps its a regional thing that no rain check for non advertised deals, but to be honest they can't put everything in an ad.

i got a raincheck for the crest that was 10/10 and a raincheck for the oral b stages toothpaste for kids (toy story) . when she made the raincheck for the kids toothpaste she did not include 'toy story' . Leads me to believe i could probably use that rain check on any oral b stages toothpaste if they dont get the toy story kind back in.

I have been told that it has to be in the ad too. Even when there are signs hanging by the item!

I work for a Kroger store. It is policy to only rain check items in the ad. We don't always like our policies but it's thier job they lose if they break them.

*YMMV* every store is different! Ours let's you have a raincheck on any sale items as long as they are truly out of stock, whether the item is in the Ad or not (they can't fit everything on just a few pages) the only "rule" is if it states no rainchecks allowed
