Sticks and tubs will both freeze just fine.

2 - Two - Tubs? Oh my dear, you really need to get to shopping! I'm down to about 7 in the freezer and I'm starting to panic! My daughter came over three days ago and I sent her home with ONE! She can just come back to visit if she wants more! ![]() So, where's the sale? |

You freeze it in the tub it comes in or put it in something different? What is the best way to get it to thaw? It doesn't change taste or texture when thawed? Sorry for all the questions I've never frozen butter.

I leave mine in the original container. I haven't used any of the ones in the freezer yet but my daughter came back for more so it must be good! You can leave it on the counter for awhile or put it in the fridge overnight to thaw.

Land O Lakes saids tubs should not be frozen and so does Bestlife Buttery Spread. I do freeze Imperial which I use for baking. I suggest to read the label or call the number on the package and confirm. Last edited by pinkflower66; 03-17-2011 at 11:37 PM. |

| Those are the two brands I have in the freezer! There was a thread awhile back and they said they froze them with no problems so I put them in the freezer!

I leave my original container and pull it out as I need it. It freezes great. I always try to have extra. I hate to run out of anything. |

If it thaws funny/separated, pull out your electric beaters and you can probably whip it back to normal. I've had great luck w/ beating both oil and water into real butter to make it "stretch" and spread easier.

I've got about 14 bowls of Best life Buttery Spread and Country Crock in my freezer right now.... I've been freezing them for awhile.... everytiime that Best life coupon comes out I snatch up as many as I can at Meijer for Free and store them all in the freezer. When my bowl in the fridge starts to get low I just toss in another one from the freezer. They go right into the freezer (no changing of packaging at all) as soon as I get home and I've never had them come out looking or smelling funny... they always look like I just brought them home no matter how long they've been in there. |

I have frozen both sticks and tubs for years. The only time I had a problem was when I brought home some frozen tubs from my mom's freezer after she passed away. When they thawed, there were pockets of water in them. They were a light spread and I don't know how long they were in the freezer. The ones I have frozen have always been fine.

I've frozen tub butter for up to a year without noticing any taste difference. The light butter does separate and water comes to the top. I pour some off and usually use that tub for cooking -- stuffing, mashed potatos, grits, mac n cheese...

It freezes great. Just pop it in the freezer in its original container, and thaw it in the refrigerator when you're ready to use it.......never had a problem.

I do this all the time without issue, but I did have problems with bestlife butter. It doesn't ever soften back up.
