I opened a pack of Kroger-brand oatmeal to find a ton of dead bugs in my bowl. I've had the oatmeal for a few months, but considering the bugs were only in one pack of oatmeal (a blueberry one-- blueberry is my favorite ), I feel that this didn't happen while they were in my possession. They were nowhere in the box, and I didn't see any in the pack of peaches and cream that I opened after that (don't know why I bothered-- my appetite for oatmeal is a little dead now ) or in the strawberries and cream one that I ate yesterday.

Is there someone I should contact about this?

I found the same thing in my quaker cheddar cheese grits the other morning. Nasty!!

You can return them to the service desk and they will give you a refund. Alternately, I think they will give you the Quaker brand instead if you want, since they guarantee that you will like the Kroger brand stuff.

I would notify the company directly. They need to check their production and procedures and make sure everything is being done in a sanitary fashion.

my mom once found a giant dead spider, web and all, inside a bag of Utz chips. her and her friends were so grossed out that they just him at the rest of the chips out. When I called Utz about it (my mom always makes me do the dirty work because I'm... pushier, that's a nice word for it ). they told me that there was absolutely no way at all that there could be a spider in the chips. They wanted us to mail them the spider/web but they were long gone. Just the idea of it grossed me out, I didn't eat chips for a while.

Mail a spider/web....okay that is going a bit TOO far & sounds crazy. Companies can be so silly at times. That is pretty laughable. Were they going to run lab test on the spider or web?

the woman that I spoke to said that they would need the spider and web to fully investigate the situation. oh course, they weren't going to pay for the shipping though. she was positive that there was no way that a spider could get into a sealed bag of chips... she would never admit that it was even a possibility. I wonder if they had gotten it and their investigation showed that it was sealed in the bag, would they have reimbursed the shipping?

I had this happen to me years ago with a package of Ramen Noodles. I wrote a letter directly to the company telling them that the package had a bunch of dead bugs in it and I did send the dead bugs off with the letter (stuck em on a strip of tape and attached it to the bottom of letter). They sent me a letter of apology along with a whole case of Ramen Noodles!

I found a bug one time when I was younger (13 or 14ish so 12+ years ago)in a box of captn crunch.. still can't eat the cereal. Just thinking about it makes me gag...because it was in MY MOUTH before I realized it... It was some kind of beetle thing..

I was at my Mcdonald's a few weeks ago and a huge ant came crawling out of my chilcken nuggets. The even more gross part was I already ate half of the nuggests! I was so grossed out. I probably should contact them and make them send me a coupon since I threw teh rest out and left.

You know my dad (this is a long time ago) purchased a oatmeal cream pie from a gas station and started to eat it and after the first bite found out that the cream was not cream it was maggots! ugh......now anytime he eats anything like that he smells it and looks at it throughly before he eats it .

My mother found a long hair intertwined into her string cheese once, and sent it back to the company. I know they mailed her free coupons.

Yeah @pounces......I wouldn't be able to if it had happened to me. I am such a paranoid eater as it is already. I am one of those that if I bite into a burger and hit grisle or something hard I can't eat for the rest of the day ugh......

About the only two gross things I have ever found in my food were:

A giant blob of green mold in the middle of a fresh bagel (found out when the bagel tasted weird, I had a quarter sized blob of mold in my mouth! )

A half moon shaped chicken bone in my chicken caesar wrap. Yuck! Wrote to the company, got coupons for two free meals.

Haha, this is like, the fool-proof diet.
Is there an email or an address I should write to? I threw out the oatmeal, so I don't have the bugs anymore to tape inside... I don't have the receipt anymore, either.
