Since today was the last day for the sale on The Marie Callendars frozen meals I went to stock up since I didn't have any coupons for these. I had ones for the dry ones but no one here likes them. I got a bunch of other stuff that I did have coupons for. A lot of my coupons are IP's since I am still new to this. I had 2 .60/3 IP coupons for the Green Giant Frozen Boxed vegetables that were on sale for .88. Since I had 2 coupons I got 6 boxed of veggies. When I get up to check out I was told they can only accept 1 IP on like items per transaction. IF I wanted to use the other one I could come back later or pay and go to the end of the line. This is not hardly possible with a cart full of non paid for items and several bags of stuff that was paid for. This did not make me happy and I just paid full sale price for anything I had doubles of. If I used manufacturer issued coupons from the paper or magazines I am limited to 8 like coupons per transaction. When the store is 40 miles away I can not justify going every day.

Total before card and coupons $175, total after $123. Not great!

Pretty rotten, but it will make you smarter next time. Once you know the rules, it is easier to plan. Sorry it was such a bad day.....especially since you had to travel so far. Don't give up...it happens to all of us. I have been a couponer for many years and I still occassionally have days like this.

before i started couponing (just a few months ago) i didnt think twice about paying full price for everything i thought that everyone payed hundreds of dollars every week for supplys now when my plans dont go as planned or i spend more then i wanted to i get so bummed but i have to remember im still studying
i dont know who said it on here but its called tuition just like you have to pay to go to college you sometimes have to pay to learn a coupon lesson
there are a couple of things i might have done half way into the transaction when she told me the rule about one ip per trans i would have ether asked her to set it aside for me to buy it in my next trans or just simply say that i dont want it after all people do this all the time they will just put it back on the shelf no harm done

That's so true!! Unfortunately, I think I chose to go to a "private" college instead of the public - 'cuz I sure pay tuition sometimes!!!

Sorry you had a less than wonderful experience. But $52 off is still $52 off!! It's more money in YOUR pocket and that deserves credit!!
