I am not happy about the gas points at Dillons. So I drive half way across town to try it out and fill up. 20 cents off per gallon for 1 fill up sounds like a good deal right. I get there and the sign says 2.56 per gallon. I scan my card and fill up, they charge me 2.53 per gallon. Ugh. When I get done filling up the price on the gas pump jumps back up to 2.56 per gallon.

So to test further I decided to go shopping at Dillons after filling up. The amount of fuel points should have increased on my receipt after my grocery purchase, but no it was exactly the same.

Customer service is closed till Monday so I will fill you in when I get a hold of them. So far I am not a fan of the fuel program. Did anyone else try and fill up this weekend? Does anyone have any advice for my call to customer service?

Didn't try it but I'm not sure the points show up unitl the next visit...
I didn't know it was 20 cents off a gallon I thought it was 3 cents off but I don't know where I heard that or why I thought it.
Let us know what they say I would have a bit of a drive to go us mine as well.

This is from their website Dillons - In Store - Save on Fuel

"What has changed with our fuel program?

Our new fuel program offers you the ability to receive greater discounts on fuel purchases. For each increment of 100 points redeemed at the pump, 10¢ off per gallon is awarded up to $1 off per gallon.

Example:

* 100 points = 10¢ off per gallon for 1 fill-up
* 200 points = 20¢ off per gallon for 1 fill-up
* 1,000 points = $1 off per gallon for 1 fill-up"

Maybe the 3 cents off per gallon is the old way they did it idk. This may be the wrong thinking but I don't think it is worth driving half way across town for just 3 cents off per gallon. 20 cents per gallon yes, 3 cents not for me. I'll keep you posted.

I think anytime you scan your dillons card you get .03 off a gallon (similar to WM and Sam's Club). I read somewhere that after you scan your card you have to select "use your pts." or something to that effect.

Still haven't actually tried it myself. I'm waiting for the truck to get low

I was thinking there would be something like that when I arrived but that was never an option that was displayed on the screen. Ugh I will call later today. I could have missed it, but I was really paying attention, my whole point was to use the fuel points ya know. Ugh, idk.

So I spoke with Dillons Customer Service and was told that when I filled up at 12:00pm on Saturday the system was down and that was why I was not prompted to use my fuel reward points. At 9:00pm that same night I then went shopping at Dillons on Battlefield. My total fuel points were not increased after my purchase. I inquired as to why this was and was again told that the system was down. However the customer service representative did tell me that he could see my fuel points totals and I did earn the credit it just was not shown on my receipt.

I asked if there was anyway to know if the system was down before I drive half way across town to fill up or before I go grocery shopping and the answer was no.

The customer service representative stated that he added the 2.00 discount I should have gotten on my fill up to my Dillons card so I will have a 2.00 credit on my card. I have checked my account online and the discount is still not posted to my account. In the past when there has been an error and customer service added money to my account it showed up immediately. So far this is not the case with the fuel purchase refund. I will keep everyone posted as to if and/or when the discount is applied to my account.

So far I am not impressed with the Dillons fuel program. I am going to give it one more try and see how it goes. It may not be worth the effort I have to continue to call to the fix problems to obtain the discount. Please keep me posted with your fuel program experiences.

We love the fuel program. I park on one side of the pump, and my husband on the other and we fill up both cars.

It will ask you if you want to use your fuel points or not when you scan your card. My station is very close though so we use it all the time anyway. I hope they get yours straightened out because it is a nice perk.

How do you access your points online? Every time I click on "check your fuel points" I never see anything. Can you direct me as to where to look online?

The customer service rep. could see it on my account when I gave him my card number. I am not aware on any place online that we the customer can see the points and keep track. Sorry.

I also LOVE Dillons Fuel Points. The great thing -- the points add up on the PRE-COUPON amount! I get loads of freebies at Dillons and get huge discounts on gas.

I went into today and bought 100 Schick Hydro 3 razors. The pre-coupon price is $5.99 each. I paid $.59 each and got the $5 Energizer cat. I haven't checked today (I forgot to look at my receipt) but I should have gotten 600 fuel points! YAY!

I do this all the time an almost never have less than a $.30/gallon discount on my card. I have gotten $1 several times.

I live in KS.

MOmomOF3 has posted more than 75 good deals!
Went yesterday... had 1400 points, no prompt to use points, and when asked the attendant at the station was told that "you can't use fuel points in Missouri, it is illegal" they can only give you the 3 cents off per gallon.... did not get my $1 off per gallon. Did you specifically ask customer service if the same rules applied in Missouri? They should really get this straight and stop telling us that we can use them, and not allow us to use them once we get to the pump. Has anyone had any luck at the store Customer Service?

That's disappointing to hear. I emailed over a week ago and haven't ever heard back. I'll try calling CS later and report back with regards to using pts in MO.

This is the latest on the website.....
"Springfield and Joplin Missouri stores are not included in this offer, state law prohibits discounts on fuel products."

Didn't it used to state something about pharmacy/prescriptions? I'm thinking they changed it now and we don't get the discount!

After a long hold I was told that the customer service rep and her supervisor are unclear of the Dillons fuel policy for Missouri and did not know the answer. I was being put on a call back list for the District manager, it could take up to a week or two to get an answer. I'll post when I hear back. If anyone hears anything or knows anything about the Dillons Missouri fuel program policy please post the info. Thanks and have a great week.

Spoke to dillon's on St. Louis customer service earlier today.... was told that they were required to hang signage in store even though they don't have promotion in MO. And that it was a glitch that caused fuel points to print on some recipts. That MO does not allow ANY business to sell fuel below cost.... they can only offer the 3 cents off, as it would take off their profit and not get below "cost". Was apologized to for the mix up. Anyhow, will contact my cousin in Kansas and see if she is anywhere near a station she can use the points on.... it would save her $1 off per gallon if she uses before 9/30, and I only have to tell her to use my phone number right?

That MO does not allow ANY business to sell fuel below cost.... they can only offer the 3 cents off, as it would take off their profit and not get below "cost". Was apologized to for the mix up. Anyhow, will contact my cousin in Kansas and see if she is anywhere near a station she can use the points on.... it would save her $1 off per gallon if she uses before 9/30, and I only have to tell her to use my phone number right?
Thanks for the legwork.

I just don't understand how no fuel discount for Missouri customers can be right. They had to hang the signage in the store when it is not offered in Missouri; that make no logical sense.

I do believe that their system has lots of glitches because sometimes the fuel points show up on my receipts and sometimes they don't. But I have gotten gas at Sams club in the past for more than 3 cents off per gallon of the average price and used a gas card that took an additional 3 cents off per gallon on top of that. I use to live in SEMO and the place I gassed up had a reward program that gave discounts on gas and often I would walk away with a free fill up.

Idk but something doesn't sound right here. I'm going to give Dillons a fair chance to make this right but then what? Is this something that should be reported to the Missouri Attorney Generals office? What are the thoughts about the next step? I love Dillons and all the great deals but I'm starting to think this is one of those crazy screw ups like the "new coupon policy." With the bran new HyVee coming to town you'd think Dillons would do everything possible to keep business.

I received a phone call from Dillons Corporate office in Hutchinson, KS today in regards to the fuel program here in Missouri; they’re standing by their it’s illegal in Missouri statements.

I pointed out the Walmart and Sams discount fuel programs, I pointed out the advertisement in the store, I pointed out the points printing on the receipts, I pointed out the new Hy Vee competition moving in right across the street; shot down, shot down, shot down, shot down, shot down.

And to muddy the waters even further for you all, the Dillons rep said that we can and will accrue the fuel rewards points here in Missouri and we can redeem them in any other market that has a Kroger where it is legal to do so like Kansas and Illinois (the closest one is about 3 hours away!) I find this laughable, we can earn the points in Missouri we just can’t redeem them or use them in Missouri. IMO, what a joke!

I am disappointed. I love Dillons. IMO it’s the best store we have in town; that opinion might change when Hy Vee gets here. ;-) I plan to do a bit more research on the issue about the Missouri fuel law. I hope everyone in Missouri will make a phone call or send an email to Dillons. Perhaps we can make a change like we did with the Dillons Coupon Policy glitch.

Thanks for sharing everything you've learned. I've sent a few emails, none that actually got a reply. Maybe a phone call would do better. I would love to be able to actually use these pts. BTW, if we can't do you think people on here would be willing to "buy" these from us? I've got 700 expiring 9/30 and I know I won't be in KS or IL anytime soon to use these

I feel kind of wasteful not using these and it could possibly give someone a good cheaper fill up, KWIM?

Update No gas points allowed for Medicare/Gov related Insurees

[quote=Springfieldian;3226800]Great idea with the gift cards. We like to do gift cards for Christmas for all the kids in the family so this would work out perfectly. Do you know if they have iTunes cards as well? I'm planning to fill up this weekend I'll keep y'all posted.[/QUOTE

I wonder if the absence of points discussed in this exchange could be related to the new Medicare/Gov law that says you cannot receive gas points for prescriptions if you are on a Medicare related health insurance plan. Don't understand why they decided to penalize retired people in this way, but apparently since June they will heavily fine any store giving gas points for pharmacy expenditures. Have been informed this by both Safeway and King Soopers when we asked where our points were. Is this part of our reward for Obamacare? Do not understand the Gov's reasoning, but ....
