| Free if item rings up wrong price???
I've had stuff ring up wrong before, but I love my Kroger, so I've never pushed the 'if it rings up wrong, it's free' policy. Yesterday, I had a plethera of issues, store manager was exceptionally rude, etc. When I got home, I noticed 6 of my Hamburger Helpers rang up for $1.61 instead of $1. I think I'd like my $1.61 x 6, thank you very much. Does anyone know where I can get a printed copy of the policy stating that Kroger will give you your item free if it rings up wrong? I really want to have something in writing to take with me since this woman all but accused me of making up the Kellogg's cat offer when mine didn't print.

My kroger said they don't do that any more. I think they give you a percentage off the item now (or something like that) but it isn't free any more. |

In December I had some items ring up wrong and they gave them to me for free. Hopefully that is still their policy. I don't think they have it in writing anywhere, maybe it's up to SM?????

I think there might be a sign up in our store. Hopefully like sdf, maybe your store offers it for free. Maybe give your kroger a call before you go in.

My store doesn't do that anymore. They just give you what they overcharged you back.

There is a state policy. I'm not sure where you find it. Some states have to give you the item free, plus a bonus. Some states are the item free x 10. So, check your state laws.

My store gives me the first item that rings up incorrectly free and then adjusts the price of the other items to the correct price.

Also, I would call corporate and see if they have the "Scan Right Guarantee" that is what it is called... and make sure to ask them to inform the store you shopped at if they do!!

I went on Sunday and the oranges were advertised for 1.99 for the bag - they rang up 3.69. I went and saw customer service and they gave me my 3.69 back!! woot!! So they were free. That's great since I was going to return them since I was only buying them bc the sale price... WIN WIN. I notice when I go on Mondays they often have the wrong prices up still in produce. |

| When I worked at Kroger, that was what we did. So you would get $1.61 back for one, and $0.61 back on the other 5.

I visited a kroger in the Cin. region, they had pens for sale and forgot to take off the sign on Monday so ofcourse they rang up the new price but when I went to the CS, she refunded me all the money and apologized and explained that they forgot to take the signs off, she took them off and gave them to me for free. In another store in the Delta region, I have had that happen with eggs which I also got for free after an apology so at least, they owe you an apology |

Yup, I've gotten some NV Granola Clusters for free before... at that time I didn't even know the policy, I just noticed they rang up at a different price, let the cashier know (thinking she would just adjust)... she sent someone to check and then CS refunded me the whole price of the bag! It was a pleasant surprise

At our Kroger, you get the 1st one free and the rest is just adjusted.

I emailed corperate, and waited...and waited...and emailed again. And waited... Finally called customer service today, and she told me that the price accuracy policy varies by region. For my region (SW/TX/LA), the first item is free, then for subsequent identical items you are refunded the amount overcharged. This is per transaction. She said since I had 2 different transactions where I was overcharged for the same item, I will get refunded the full $1.61 x 2 and .61 x 4. Yay!

I haven't had a price problem lately. I was told a few years ago that the policy changes from time to time .

Interesting. I went back to the Kroger in Shady Grove to get my price adjustment a couple of days ago, and also to show the idiot manager a copy of the Kellogg's cat AND proof of the difference between a Family Dollar in-store q vs. manu q printed from FD's own coupon policy. Well wouldn't you know, she had just been transferred to the Benton Rd. store b/c of customer complaints? I didn't have it in me to ask my fave manager for a full refund, so I just asked for the amt overcharged. FYI I'd make the extra drive to a different location if it means you don't have to deal w/ Ms. Murphy. The cust. service rep I talked to gave me the reference # for my call, and said if I ever had any problem with a manager complying with the SW region price accuracy policy, to have them call cust service and give them that ref #: 7755185.

I'm not sure for your state, but in Michigan, if you are overcharged what the sticker says, we have a scanner law that says you are entitled to the correct price plus the difference times 10 (minimum of $1 and maximum of $5) on one of the identical items. In other words, the other day I bought marshmallow bunnies (3) that were marked $.69. They rang up at $1.69 which I didn't notice until I checked my receipt. I was refunded the $3 plus 10 X $1.00=(actually $10) $5 (the maximum allowed to be bonus awarded, so I wouldn't get $10 back, I'd get $5.) These were identical items I purchased too so I only get one bonus award per item. It's meant to encourage correct pricing in MI and it's nice because sometimes (like the other day) you can end up walking out of a store being paid for buying something . In this case I made $2.93 and got free bunnies ! |

Our kroger sells the Sunday newspaper on Sunday for $1.75, they keep all the unsold Sunday papers till Saturday and sell them for $1.00. I bought 3 Sunday papers today (for the coupons) and I did self check out. I rang up the first of the 3 papers and it rang up $1.75 instead of $1.00. I notified the cashier in charge of the self check out and she corrected the price. I told her I had only rang up one of the three papers I was buying. She put two papers on my bill for $1.00 each and then said the third paper is free. I said that is so nice of you and thanked her. After I left the store, it occurred to me she wasn't just being nice. I got the paper free because it rang up incorrectly.
