I was doing the Buy 10 get $5 deal tonight with 30 items. I had quite a few free things. But, I made sure I was buying stuff for a $1 etc. Well, low and behold the grand total comes up -$.01 What???? I didn't do the math but I have never gone negative! It was the shortcuts coupons I guess. I was asking is that right to the cashier?? He said yes it's right and handed me a penny. I know they get paid from the manufacture and I used all the right coupons (just didn't expect so many of the shortcuts e coupons I guess). But, I don't feel right about it. Have you ever had that happen? I just like to do things right and that one caught me off guard.

Thanks! Pretty crazy. I had never really used a coupon until about 2 years ago. I guess I have learned a thing or two... (I just need to do a little math before checking out . I have learned a lot from AFC.

Funny...that happened to me for the 1st time today at Fry's. All I bought was 8 nature valley nut clusters, but with the sale and my Q's the total came to -.61. I felt weird about it so I said, well I'll just grab a pack of gum. Of course all they had was $1.29!! Ouch!! Especially since I don't chew much gum...but I didn't want to hold up the line. So exciting!! I told just about everyone I know!!

I am guessing that you had the Carnation Evaporated Milk, the I cant Believe Its my Butter, the Bumble Bee Tuna, Colgate, possibly the NailSaver Sponge, but beyond that I can't figure out what else zeroed out for you. I did my Kroger run today and saved 82% according to my receipt a and I was thrilled. I would so appreciate any info u could share as to what u purchased. Thanks and Kudos !

Sometimes I will run into the negative at Kroger.... but it's always something beyond my control (like entering the regular price vs. sale price on a BOGO coupon). I try not to rely on those types of mistakes so it's always a "bonus" if the cashier goofs. Just the past two weeks my Kroger has paid me cash back....I hate doing that, but the front end Mgr. always insists on giving me what I'm "due"! LOL Even if it's just 18 cents or whatever... it's a nice surprise!

That's an awesome trip! Its happened to me only once, but the store I was shopping at would not allow for a negative balance so I grabbed a thing of Tic Tacs so I would owe a few cents.

I always tell dh "I'm printing money!" Today he responded how about hundreds or a thousand dollar bill rather than a dollar at a time! I told him that would attract too much attention.

Only in America can we print off our own version of money and have it universally accepted (WalMart excluded of course!).

I thought that you could only use MQs or EQs for an item, not both. For instance, if I have a 50 cent MQ for a product, and a 30 cent EQ for the same item, only the EQ would be used. If I'm wrong, please tell me...I'll start loading up on EQs right away!
