Have you considered donating some of your freebies or really good deals to an area homeless shelter? We also participate in Operation Christmas Child, an organization headed up by Franklin Graham (son of Billy Graham), that sends shoeboxes filled with goodies to children around the world. Lots of churches take this on as a project in the fall and the boxes are given to the children for Christmas or any other time of the year when there might be a disaster (earthquake, etc.) in that country. Examples of things we send: soap, toothpaste, hard wrapped candy, toys, coloring books, dolls, socks, etc. No liquids because of possible leakage. Imagine a child who has nothing opening his shoebox from a stranger in the good 'ole USA. The folks who deliver these shoeboxes speak their language and explain what is in the box ~~ and also share Jesus with them. Check out their website: samaritanspurse.org |

One excellent deal tonight was the Mom's Best Naturals cereals: 2/$3. Their website has an IP for $0.75/1 (print 2) and Shortcuts.com has an e-coupon for $0.75/1. It was a $0.75 moneymaker. I never pass up free cereal; no matter the flavor! I loaded the link to the coupon in the coupon database. Playtex Living gloves (pink with cuffs) were on sale $1.69. I had a coupon for $0.75/1 from a magazine (free subscription, not sure which one, possibly Good Housekeeping or Better Homes & Gardens a few months back). |

Last night I got 3 yoplus yogurts, 3 yoplait delights yogurts, 4 bags of coughdrops, 3 refrigerated nestle cookie dough, and a fusion razor for just over $6 oop. The cough drops did me in, but with a sick girl at home, I couldn't wait for Walgreens to restock. Used (3) $1 yoplus Qs, doubles. (3) $1 delights Qs, doubles. (2) .75 halls refresh Qs, doubles. (2) .35 halls Qs, doubles. (3) $1 nestle cookie dough Qs, doubles. $4 off fusion Q + $2 Q loaded onto my card. Last time I was in Kroger, they wouldn't let me use the paper q with loaded one. Proof that it pays to go in night shift. ETA: I forgot the rest... Used (3) $2 cats and $.50 cat.

I hope Kroger keeps these sales coming. Or do I? They're so much fun with coupons. But really, I. must. be. stopped. Transaction #1 2 Pillsbury Grands (2x$1.67=3.34 - 30¢/2 doubled - 30¢ eQ) = $2.44 4 Pillsbury 5-ct. Cinnamon Rolls (4x$1.70=6.80 - 2x$1 - 2x40¢ eQ) = $4 1 Yo-Plus 4-pack ($2.69 - free coupon - $1 eQ) = -$1 (over) 8 Nature Valley Nut Clusters ($12 - 8x$1.60 - 4x$1 eQ - 4x40¢ eQ) = -$6.40 (over) cabbage to prevent negative balance = 67¢ TOTAL = 77¢ + another $4 catalina (I now have four of these, because, thanks to a huge stockpile, only one of my grocery shops this month has totaled more than $4.) Transaction #2 5 Nature Valley Nut Clusters ($7.50 - 2x$1.60 - 3x$1 - $1 eQ - 40¢ eQ) = -10¢ (over) 2 Fiber One Chewy Bars ($3 - 50¢ doubled - 40¢ doubled - 2X40¢ eQ) = 40¢ 1 Chex Bars ($1.50 - 50¢ doubled - 50¢ eQ) = free TOTAL = 52¢ Last edited by bartleby; 10-25-2009 at 10:40 AM. |
