I made a quick run today to get in on the last day of the mega savers too. I found a great new Kroger that has been recently remodeled, has great people working there, and had everything in stock. They even start the sales a day early (on Tue) every week, so they overlap. And the manager rang me up and doubled my IP's that didn't get doubled at my usual Kroger, the one I USED to shop at. Here's what I got today:

2 BC Brownie Mixes
NV granola clusters
2 Warm delights
Bc cookie mix
4 Grands biscuits
Yo Plus yogurt
3 Pepsi 2-liters
4 toaster strudel
2 bags pizza rolls
2 loaves Wonder bread

$40.58 at sale prices
-$15.80 in MQ's and EQ's
-$10 mega savers
-$7.00 in OYNO's from the last mega savers trip I made

oop - $9.84

Almost had a disastrous trip to Kroger today! I spent an hour in the store making sure I didn't miss any of my deals, had all the coupons I needed and that all the GM/Pepsi products were in multiples of 10 so I could max out my $5.00 savings (w/ my 2 year old and 9-mos pregnant self, mind you). So I ring everything up (self-checkout) and hand my coupons to the attendant. First one is the BOGO SoBe IP and he tells me they don't take IP Q's for free items. Whatever, I can deal with that, even though I think it's ridiculous and question him several times on it. Then he gets to all my other IP's and tells me they can't take them if they're not in color b/c they could be copies (we don't have a color ink cartridge in our printer and I have no intention of buying one b/c we don't need it - which I tell him). I was totally baffled as I shop Meijer all the time and have never once been questioned about my black & white IPs, which I also told him. He kept telling me sorry, can't take them. So I said (about ready to burst into tears) that I wasn't buying anything if they wouldn't take my coupons (not just to be a pain but b/c almost everything I was buying had an IP and it would have totally messed up my multiples of 10 items). I asked him if he could get a manager and he went over to the customer service desk himself (after telling me I could go over there after I paid for my items, to which I repeated that I wasn't buying ANYTHING if they weren't going to take them). Mind you, this man was very nice, I just couldn't believe the "policies" he was telling me. He comes back and says good thing I asked, one manager told him no on the coupons and the other said yes, so they DID take them. Ugh. Thank goodness they double more than two of the same coupon (unlike Meijer) and even my IPs that say Do Not Double, doubled. So . . . here's how I did (had coupons for everything thru the frozen veggies):

(4) Cheerios
(2) Tostitos Chips
(1) Tostitos Dip - FREE w/ purchase of 2 chips (peelie)
(12) SoBe Lifewater (LOVE these)
(4) Grands Biscuits
(2) Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
(2) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
(2) Green Giant Frozen Veggies
(1) 2L Pepsi
(4) Kroger Cheese Slices (We desperately needed cheese)
(1) Starbucks Ice Cream Pint (finally had them in stock - $3.34ea + $2.00 Q)
(2) 1/2 Gallons Milk - Manager's Special @ $.50 each
(2) 1/2 Gallons OJ - Manager's Special @ $.50 each
(2) Bags Kroger Whole Bean Coffee (best deal around for whole bean coffee and it's good - $2.85/12oz bag - on sale)

41 Items
OOP = $29.60
Total Savings = $60.55 (67%)

Ugh!! I hate when they say things like that... as if you couldn't make a color copy!!! duh!!! I also refuse to get a color ink cartridge because I only use my printer to print coupons!! LOL

Glad it worked out in the end

Hi all. I had a great quick Kroger trip today. Didn't buy anything perishable b/c I had other deals in other stores to get to.

First they didn't carry the $2.99 24-ct Tylenol 8-Hr (I had the $2/1 Q). I asked an employee about it, and she offered the 50-ct box to me for half price. It was $7.49, so she gave it to me for $3.75. I paid for it right there at the pharmacy with my Q ($1.75 + tax). She saw that I had the $1.99 ziploc containers in my cart so she gave me 2 $1/1 Qs as well.

Here's my list:

Kroger brand tortilla chips: $1, $.65/1 SC eQ = $.35
Bounty basic paper towels: $1, $.25/1 MQ, tripled = $.25
Dial hand soap: $1, (I just realized I forgot to use my $.55/1 IP!)
Hefty One Zip freezer bags (quart, gallon): $1 each, $1/2 MQ = 2/$1
Kotex tampons: $2.50, $1/1 MQ, $1/1 CF eQ = $.50
Ziploc containers (4): $1.99, 2 $1/1 tearpad MQ, $1.50/2 IP = 4/$4.46 ($1.12 each)

Used a $1.50 CAT (from BC fruit snacks during Mega Event).

OOP: $6 + tax! Total savings: $19.04 (74%) It would have been less if I didn't forget my stupid Dial Q.

That sounds like such an awesome deal! Unfortunately the coupon says it is for 20 oz or Larger. The 10 for 10 price is for the 6-8 oz. selected varieties.

No matter how hard I try, I just cannot get the great deals I see everyone else getting. Yesterday I spent a good part of the day getting ready for my Kroger trip today. I had my Q's matched up to alot of the items in the sale paper and wrote down what sale items I wanted to buy. My goal was to spend under $75. I spent $84.62. Close but it still irks me! I did get some good deals though.

Wonder bread $1.50 -.55 shortcuts -.55 Q Paid .40
2 Hefty gallon freezer bags $2 -$1 Q Paid .50 each
1 roll Bounty $1 -.25 esaver -.25 Q dbld to .50 Paid .25
OB tampons on clearance for $2.19 -$1 Q Paid $1.19
I also got the free milk!

I'm getting better at it.

Quickie trip today - had to buy a lot of fruit and veggies, so only saved 60%. Highlights were:
Bounty $1 - .25 q doubled - .25 eSaver = .25
Dial soap $1 - .35 q doubled = .30
Ivory soap 3 pk 1.19 (not on sale, but ok price) - .25 q doubled - .25 eSaver = .44
Taste of Thai coconut milk 1.67 - .50 q doubled = .67
Off the Bone turkey $3.19 - b1g1 (I got .80 overage too!) = 1.20 ea
BEST DEAL:
4 French's mustard $1 ea - b1g1 peelie - .50 q doubled - .59 overage x 2 = 1.18 overage!

I know it was mentioned in another thread, but definitely be on the lookout for these peelies. I was planning on getting two mustards free w/my .50 q's, but the peelie made the deal so much sweeter! I'm tempted to dig up/print some more q's and go back. The expiration isn't for a year or so!

oop was $18.09

Mfg cpn savings $10.37
Bonus cpn savings $2.52
Str cpn savings $12.30
Total savings $25.19 60%

I got some good deals today, but there were many I saw here that our store didn't have. I did get the French's (the only kind DH will use) free and a b1g1 peelie for free honey or spicy mustard! My ipq didn't have bar codes on it though, for some reason, but the manager pushed it through anyway. I'm going back for more tomorrow! I got 2 loaves of Wonder bread, but I must have bought the wrong kind, because they rang up at $2.69 each on my receipt. So I plan to take those back tomorrow and get the right kind with more q's. My total was more than I expected, but I got some things that didn't have a coupon. Here's what I got:

Hefty gal freezer bags: $1 - .50q doubled = free
Bounty: $1 - .25 eq - .25 mq doubled = .25
Maruchan Yakisoba: $1 - .50 mq doubled = free
fruit2O water: $1 - .50 mq doubled = free
French's mustard: $1 - .50 mq doubled = free
French's spicy mustard: $1 - free b1g1
Starkist tuna pouch: $1 - .50 mq doubled = free
Cattlemen's sauce: $1 - .50 mq doubled = free
French's worchestershire sauce: $1.79 - .50 doubled = $.79
4 Kroger cheese: $1.50 each (b1g1)
Country crock: $2.49 - .50 mq doubled = $1.49 (we really needed butter)
Dial handsoap: $1 - .35 mq doubled = .30
Reese's king size: $1 - .50 mp doubled = free (I'm enjoying this now )
2 small Kroger ice creams: $2 (for my kiddos who went with me)
Fast Fixin chicken nuggets: $1 - .50 mq doubled = free
Kroger tortilla chips: $1 - .65 eq = .35
4 Off the Bone lunchmeats: @ $3.19 ea = $12.76 - 2 b1g1 = $6.38 - 2 .75 blinkies = $4.88/4 or $1.22 each
2 OM weiners: @$2 each - b1g1 = $1 ea
Kroger bacon: $1.79
2 Wonder: @ $2.69 ea - .50 mq doubled = $1.69 ea (returning these)

I had $56.70 before coupons, 28.43 in coupons, and $31.57 oop. This should have been just under $30, so I think something didn't come off. But still not too bad, considering the stuff I got is generally expensive.

I'm doing this post for the first time, bear with me if I don't make sense!

This is from my trip yesterday:
3 Charmin @ 1.88 - .75 (.25q tripled) = 1.13 ea
3 Bounty @ 1 - .75 (.25q tripled) = .25 ea
2 Triscuits = 4.00 [no coupons, sadly]
4 Activia @ 1.88 - 1.00q = .88 ea
1 package of Mission Tortillas @ 1.00 - .55q = .45
2 Oscar Mayer Lunchables @ 1.00 - 1.00q = FREE
B1G1 OM Bacon 5.99-1.50q off 2 = 2.25 ea
2 PB Pizza Crust @ 2.59 ea = 5.18 - .80 (.40q doubled) = 2.19 each

That last one isn't such a hot deal and I'm irked I can't find Triscuit coupons online anywhere. They're a staple food for this single girl!

My total OOP was 20.97!
I saved 10.20 in coupons, 13.60 when you count the doubles and triples.
My Kroger plus card "saved" me another 18.46.

.05 cents! No tax! I was pretty excited! The young kid checking me out and the bagger were like "cool"! I tried to give them some candy bars but they didn't want them! Crazy kids!

My mom came to town this weekend and we loaded her car up with bargains.
From Kroger we got the following in 4 transactions:

34 bottles of French's mustards, different kinds $1.00 each (used the FREE peelie on the yellows along with the .50 mq doubled for the yellows)= FREE with overage

20 Yakisoba noodles 1.00 each (used .50 mq doubled) = FREE
20 Reese's pieces boxes 1.00 each (used .55 mq doubled) = FREE with overage
8 Ronco Pasta 1.00 each (used .55/2 doubled)= $3.60
1 bottle Kroger salad dressing (used Kroger Q)= FREE
5 lbs red potatoes $2.79 (used $1.00 Kroger Q) = 1.79
2 2 liter pepsis 1.00 (no qs)= 2.00
12 Bumblebee tunas 1.09 (used 1.00 mq)= 1.08
4 Hunt's pudding cups 1.00 (used b3g1 mq)= 3.00
Plus some other multiples that I'm forgetting

Total OOP combined, including tax, $3 and some change

The overage from the French's peelies paid for our last 2 trips and the amount OOP for them, total, was 18 cents. One was 0.00. I've never had a zero balance and thought that was cool. Mom couldn't see the screen and just stood there waiting for them to tell her the total so that she could slide her card to pay!

I looked at the last two receipts and it said "total savings 102%"
