Look up and down the aisles for the red and yellow stickers and at mine sometimes there's a cart at the back of the store by the restrooms with markdowns

Hello there! I'm new to the group but may I just say I am like a crack fiend when it comes to the Manager Special items. My friends & family all make jokes as you should see all the stockpiles of yellow/orange stickers in my pantry & linen closet,

last week I stumbled upon about 14 tubes of the Aussie gel that DH uses for $1.59 a tube. I snatched them all. Tuesday I got a whole bunch of meat to stock my freezer with. I just happened to walk in at the right time when the meat man had a huge box he was marking down. I was in heaven! :o)

Today I found Quaker granola bars, as well as Nature Valley Granola bars for $.75 per box. I still got the mega deal on the NV! Also, I found McCormick pepper mills for $.35. I ended up getting 4 boxes of Quaker bars, 10 boxes of NV bars, and 2 pepper grinders for $1.07! (Dallas area)

Hershey's Extra Dark bars, $1 each. Free after $1 coupon.

Betty Crocker cookie frosting tubes -- $1 each. Wonder if that $1-off-1 coupon for those things is still being issued ... back around Christmas we were being practically carpet-bombed with that coupon, but pricing was staying above $3 so no one in our club took those coupons.

An entire buggy of Cover Girl makeup items, steeply marked down. I don't use makeup, but I have about a dozen of the $1-off-any-CG-product coupons from the last P&G insert (I'm sort of unofficial librarian/collector-of-the-leftovers for our local coupon-swap group) ... I'm curious to see if anyone asks me for the coupons and goes to raid that cart.

Dozens of Christmas-swirly Nestle baking chips at $2.24 -- not a particularly good price, most other stores clearanced these at <$1.50 way back when (I remember from stocking up then)

... entire case of Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce for 59c each (regular price is 1.09, at both Kroger & Publix). It became free after a 50c coupon doubled. The store's POS software is smart enough to not double past the actual purchase price for some products ... *darn* ... I only got it for FREE instead of being paid 41c extra to haul it away (and I didn't buy out the whole case)

Many bags of somewhat-stale Jet Puff (forget the name, it's Jet-something) marshmallows for 49c each. *Almost* got a few, but with the house remodel I'm not likely to be decorating any cakes soon, meaning no need for marshmallows to make fondant for a few more weeks. Yet these were starting to go stale and would need to be used very soon.

On the meat aisle, the short-dated meats (stuff expiring in the next 2-3 days) included several packages of Hormel Always Tenders, marked down from $9.99 (which is $1 higher than my alternate store's regular price) to $4.99. The 24oz seasoned pork roast Always Tenders were down to $2.99. Add on a $1-off-any coupon for each and they became $3.99 and $1.99 each, respectively. All are now in the freezer, destined to become entrees for some night when I'm not feeling like actually cooking. Slice (optional), thaw, and throw in the oven

... also a short-dated packet of mock tender steak for something like $1.99/lb. I'll be running it through the grinder in a few minutes, and we'll have fresh very-low-fat-content burgers with caramelized onion topping for dinner tonight

... nice heads of garlic as 6-packs for $1.49 = 25c per head. The last ingredient for the caramelized onions for tonight

Last night I found Kroger Value Brand "ziploc" freezer/storage bags on clearance for $.88/box. Gallon size had 15, quart size had 20. There were sandwich bags too, just don't remember the count...maybe 50. Anyway, if you didn't buy them on clearance after Halloween or Christmas, then this is a good price I think. I was almost out (and I don't like to re-use them) so I bought 4 of each. They were still on the shelf at my store, not in a special section.
