Darn it, I just got off the phone with customer service and she says that it is only good in North Carolina, not yet here in Virginia.
But I will keep waiting because this sounds like it is going to be great!

I asked about this a month or so ago, emailed Kroger because the points were showing up on my kroger profile. I was told it was only valid if you have the 1-2-3 mastercard. I am in Myrtle Beach, SC. I was upset, to say the least. I told them it was misleading because in the info about it, it says nothing about being linked to the credit card.

It is linked to the credit card in some regions and just to your regular shopper's card in others. I do not have the credit card but I get all the benefits of this program.

so I am curious, If you get an application from a region that offers it and you use it in another region. Will you still get the points? Cause I am willing to pay someone to send me the new card, if there kroger offers it. I will come out better, in the long run.

Just PM me, if you can help me with this.

Kroger rewards

In order to get rewarded points towards kroger purchases you have to sign up for a mastercard.

Actually in some areas you do not have to have the Mastercard. Many areas are now offering the points through the Kroger shopping card.

I was surprised -- I hadn't heard anything about the rewards in my local area but I checked my account online and it shows that my plus card was automatically rolled into the program when it started here (haven't a clue when that was.) I've had my card since the shopping card program started 10+ years ago but I didn't have to get a new Kroger Plus card or do anything special to get enrolled into the Rewards Plus program -- it was totally automatic and without action on my part.

Hopefully it will be as easy for everyone else when the program reaches your area.

I'm in the same region as you are -- the SE Region. As I indicated I noticed, the rewards points just apppeared in my account on the website under "My Kroger" one day. I didn't register for the program or get a new card. And I've triple checked -- the program my points are showing is the exact same Rewards Plus Program that this thread is about.

Kroger Rewards

Ladies,
I have a Kroger Rewards Plus card that I got down in Raliegh NC. I have as a hobby just collecting store cards so I always collect different brands when I am in different areas. There is no obligation for linking to a rebate card or anything they just send you 1% rebate when you hit $500. It's not big money but it is a little something in addition to the plus discouts. I was trying to order another card and found out you have to take them directly from a store. I'm going over to NC for thanksgiving and will try to get a handful of the cards for my family. One thought is you my just try calling a store in Raleigh, NC, get their address and ask if they have the cards. Then just send them a SASE and a note asking them to mail you a card. There's no reason they wouldn't do it... you would only need to call the 1800krogers number to register it. I signed up in the store but they didn't ever put my address in until I called them.

a follow on to the above note... once you get your card, call the 800 number and give them your old card numbers. They will transfer the points you accumulated from the beginning of the year on the old cards. They mail checks quarterly and they start over points at the beginning of the year. So if you did lots of shopping in 2008 with a plus card it would def be worth having finding a frieldly clerk to mail you a card from one of the stores in North Carolina.

Twice now I've gotten a survey from Vocalpoint asking what I would think of such a program.
once amonth or so ago and then again just this week.
We already get a 5 cent discount for each bag we bring to use.
I am though hoping this program comes our way soon.

Today, I noticed that my sister had over 1,000 points on her account and the new quarter just started. I asked her how she could have possibly spent that much money and she said she didn't. When they (Ralph's in my area) mailed out the rewards at the beggining of the month, they also had other coupons, one of which included one that said double points. I guess she used this coupon when she got the 400 bonus points for the PG & E. So for spending $20 on PG & E, she automatically gets an $8.00 coupon next quarter. WOW!~ I'm hoping they have another one of these bonus rewards so that I will be able to double my points.

I asked my mgr. a while back about this and he told me it wouldn't be effective in my area until Dec. sometime. When I first ask the Asst. Mgr. she said it was for the Mastercard. I told her I didn't want a credit card of any kind. :-)

Seems to me the "left hand doesn't know what the right hand" is doing.

Waaaah - I want it here in the central states, too. I take my own bag - even bought the Kroger bags and a couple of insulated bags. It is my main store. I'm turning green.

I'm in Charleston, WV and we do not have this yet either. I can't wait though. Before I found great sites like this one, I used to an avid Walmart shopper, now I do most of my shopping at Kroger. I still like to go to Walmart, but I do much better at Kroger.
