Ok so sorry if I am late on this but the wife and I just caught up on the show and noticed they had one from Thornton, CO in a Kings let me say a few things.

If you are new to the coupon world and watched that show be advised there were so many rules broken for the filming of the show.

They state only 3 like coupons I think I watched that woman drop 100+ vitamin water coupons. Coupon Policy

I have never seen a King Soopers give overage.

I know this one from experience that if you even do several transactions that after I believe 13 of the same coupons their system stops doubling them as seen in the show. (the manager wont fix it like they did on the show)

Just a few things I seen them get away with right off the bat, if anything else should arise I will update this post.

A few more words, to make life easier @ Kings get a few store cards so you can mix them up when getting good deals, and remember only 3 like coupons

I noticed that too. Never more than 3 like coupons and you would NEVER get paid overage on a gift card like she did.

I was wondering that myself when watching that show. It kinda bugs me that they break all of these rules just because they're on tv.

Still don't know why KS only accepts 3 of the same kind, they get reimbursed. I'm in Parker and trying to even "smart" couponing is tough here, w/ all the restrictions, lack of stores & lets not forget, only one newspaper. :-((

Yeah shopping at kings can be difficult, we used to be kings loyalist's before we couponed . We still do kings just not as much.

Agreed because if I were to walk into that store in REAL LIFE and try what she did not only would they laugh in my face but they probably would have me escorted off the property.

the way I put it in my book( I just wrote it in 3 days) these types of shows are unrealistic and promote unethical coupon use. I would take for entertainment purposes only.
Don't ever expect to duplicate what they do on the show.

One of the stores that was on this show, recently issued a statement stating they regret allowing the store to be filmed. I believe it was Lowe's.

I have used coupons in Kings for more than the price of items, but the overage was used on other items I was buying. I was told that they would not give out an overage, but that I could use it at that time. So... one time the coupon was adjusted, and from then on, I made sure I had other items, so that it was never less than $0.00 and they have always honored the $ on the coupon. I have walked out paying $0.25 a couple of times when i bought several items and a candy bar. :-)

The wife tried to use the cover girl q and was turned down by both store managers their reason was you are not purchasing an item valued at $8 each not $8 together but $8 each meaning a total of $16 to use an $8 Q.

I dunno whats kings you use but the ones around me and not as nice as yours.

I dont get it!!!! I used 3 b1g1 q for treseme they are on sale 3 for$10 so I would get 6 bottles for $10. So that would make the ones I purchased about $3.33 each.....So why did the cashier write and put in the register $4.07 on my free ones? Shouldn't it be $3.33? They are making .74 cents off of every one of my q's...... but yet I can't use the overage from my cover girl to go towards my basket purchase???? Double standards!!!!!! I will never shop Kings again!!!! I simply hate that place. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander!!!!!! A store that bends the rules to suit them is NOT a store I will shop at!!!!!!!

One more thing..... Isn't it coupon fraud when you adjust down to an item???? Example:
Kings on $8/2 cover girl q
Close out price of foundation $3.15
$3.15 x 2 = $6.30
which would give you an overage of $1.70
which is the correct way but instead they adjust the coupon to make it a $6.30 q because that is the price of both items.
They turn it in and get the $8.00 plus .08 cents..... So why can't I get the overage too?????? Like I am suppose too? I am doing it right!!!!!! It is so upsetting when you coupon right and a store makes up their own rules!!!!!! Sorry just a little annoyed!!!!!!

I was using the Physicians Formula coupon exp 6/30/11 for $5.00 off any one item at the Kings on Ken Caryl, Bellview West, and S. Wads. I purchased an eyeliner marked down to $4.40. The first time I did it, I bought one eyeliner and misc grocery. The clerk questioned it, but put it thru since I had other items. After that, each time I used the coupons, I bought one eyeliner at $4.40 and one other Physicians Formula item over $5.00, so the overage could be said to apply to the other PF item. no one questioned me again.

OP, if you have the extra time, please consider writing a short letter to your store, the district manager, and the corporation (same letter, just CCd to all of them). So many of the stores on that show bend the rules. One chain in NC got a lot of flack from their customers. They made a statement that customers would be held to the limits they have in place and that they regretted ever getting involved with the show.

If the people who are directly affected by the show contact the stores and chains involved, it might make those at the corporate level think twice about agreeing to do it again. Sounds like it's in their best interest to refrain.
