At the beginning of the month full 100% points were awarded for Smart Sense products. Great, got enough for a dryer we really needed. Did the deal again on the 16th and 17th in hopes of getting enough for a washer. My points never showed up,I called CS and was told of the change. CS tells me they can't help me even though the signs were still up at my store for the %100 points back no limit. CS told me to call my store to get help, get this, the manager of the store had no idea of the change either and told me she can only fix up to $10..... Very quietly they changed the rules twice. First was $50 per transaction. Second change became $50 per member total. I checked threads in other groups and it seems to be the way it went ;( . Well needless to say I packed over $500 in product into my car (love my Outback)to return it. Off I go over an hour away to a store that should have closed long before the store in my town did ( 3 years ago ) to apparently Pi** off the young CS clerk by having to work.. So now they have to resell it all and I won't be buying a washer at all from them. It was a good deal when I could buy a bunch of stuff like paper and plastic products then turn it around for the something bigger, it ofset how overpriced those items are. Kmart has yet to explain why they changed it half way but the skuttlebutt is they thought people were taking advantage of the sale. How could we take advantage of a sale they gave us.............

Now I have another question, when is a good time to buy washers,I can drag some more time out of mine. We have kept it going this long with the help of you tube and buying parts, but it's just about done.

The last paragraph in your post made me LOL. A good time to buy washers is when your existing one is giving out. I bought my washer last year and with 4 kids in the house I saved myself inconvenience ( of having to go to laundry mat if left without washer), headaches ( bc existing washer was not performing well) and anxiety ( thinking that it could die at any time). I did my research before buying but any $ I might have overpaid was definitely worth it in other things I saved. Good luck.

An AFC'er recently bought a Washer & Dryer from Sears for a good deal. Most places have new, dented Appliances as well.
Also, the Post Office has 10% off coupons on Lowe's & Home Depot in the "Moving Packs" that are on the counter. I had to check the expiration dates.

Years ago, for our Washer, we waited for a:
1). Sale at Home Depot
2). Used a 10% Q from the Post Offing move packs to save $300.00.
3). I know YMMV-but some Home Depots still price-match competitors stores, plus take the Post Office Home Depot 10% off Q.

4). A stretch, but you can buy one at Costco even if you don't have a Costco Membership. You'd have to know someone who has a membership & buy you a $25 GiftCard to get in then, pay in cash over that amt. Be sure to call Mgr & double-check this 1st. Costco supposedly is 15% over wholesale prices.
Let us know when & how you find one, Lyn.

Thanks nowpoints as always very help full .. I just know that there are times of the year that are better than other times for buying certain items. We're looking at getting a Costco card . Thanks for the Post office Q I'm going to check that out too since our local Home depot wont give the Military discount on "sale" items but I can price match civilian sales on base. Urg.

Hi lyn~
Presidents Day February 20th & Memorial Day Weekend end of May are the best times to buy Appliances. You are in luck!

Just read it in my email from "Moneytalk News".
