So had to figure out how to spend all my GC's and $10 CRT's this week. Had quite a few. Could of held onto the GC's for a bit, but honestly I have had just about enough fun at Kmart!

So I ordered some Scott Paper towel Q's, and had to wait for them to come in. Wasn't confident though that the paper towel stock would hold up until the end of the week when I figured they would arrive.

I tried to order my stock. Store said no. Tried to use the Gofer site. The sale Scott towels were NOT on it, and when I called they said I couldn't order those on there, only what showed online.

Decided I would do a few deals to get the Soft Scrub that was on sale to use up some of the CRT's in the meantime, and save the rest, plus GC's for when the Q's arrived.

I had to work Wed/Thur/Fri so asked my daughter to drive me, so she and my DH could make a Kmart run if the coupons came early. The Q's came yesterday, so they made a run. First Kmart....no Scott. Second one...tons. Only thing was this store made up their own policy regarding coupon use. They said that only TWO coupons could be used per order. So they left empty handed. I told my DH he should have asked them to call corporate, as this is not right. He said he was told by the manager that THIS store had made this their own policy.

So made a run today to our regular Kmart. Found lots of Scott, but it was hot and DH and I were having communication issues I guess. Things didn't go smoothly!

He does first order, no problem. I do second order, different cashier...she is new I guess. First she can't figure out how to put the coupons through. She runs to ask. Then she seems baffled that the coupons doubled. I try to explain to her the policy, but she decides to hold up the line and ask her FEM if the fact that the Q's doubled is ok. Guess she thought she pushed a wrong button. I don't mean to be nasty, but I am soooooo sick of having to train store employees, and teach them their own store policies! I have to deal with all the ticked off people behind me, due to their lack of training!

Anyhow, we go back out to the car. I still have some Scott Q's, but no more CRT's. DH says he has 2 GC's. I say, oh, ok?! Use them and do another order. He runs in to do it, I am in the car cleaning out my coupon bag. I suddenly come across a $10 CRT! So I race back into the store to give it to DH, but can't find him. Finally I find him back at the car. I tell him about finding the CRT, and ask him how much he paid. He says $17. I am like why?! What about the GC's. He says "I told you I had two, but not on me. You didn't listen." So now I am a bit mad. I mean really...I would have waited, and used the GC's later. He wasn't getting the 'art of the deal' at all!

But now I have to use to last CRT. I am beyond grumpy after bickering over it. He agrees to go in and get some Soft Scrub. Only I told him the wrong amount to get. He knows about getting the order to $25 in order for the Q's to double, but he was hot and tired too. So he doesn't get the right amount of items because of me, doesn't get to $25. The cashier cancels the first and re-rings the order, and he adds a rake onto the order to bring it up hopefully to $25, but it is short. DH gives up and pays the difference (although he did have $6 on his SYWR card, so that helped). He tells me about the rake ordeal in the car, but says "I gave up and told him to take the rake off." I look at the receipt and say..."the rake is still on here." He cursed, ran back into the store and got his money back for the rake.

What a fiasco! I hate last minute scrambling. I have made my share of stupid couponing mistakes, so I can't fault my DH, but I was a bit ticked off. You plan things so as to pay the least amount OOP, and these stupid mistakes negate all the hard planning. Sometimes I hate couponing! When it goes as planned, it is soooo nice. When every order gets messed up.....grrrrrr!!!

Oh well....there are more important things to worry about! I apologized to my DH for getting upset, and we both called it a day. So glad I have no more CRT's! Actually, I need to double check my bag...just in case! I never finished going through it! :-)

Sounds like shopping with my husband... Except he has to buy stuff not on the list! And loves to use the cats on spur of the moment purchases!

This is why I would NEVER have someone else do Kmart for me. I can occasional make a mistakes but not very often. Kmart is way to tedious to have someone else do it for me. I NEED to be in control over my Kmart transactions LOL

PS The rake didn't work to get to $25 because it's not a grocery or health & beauty item.

Oh, well didn't even remember THAT bit! But actually he was like $2.50 under even with the rake, and he gave up. Some days are just NOT good couponing days. And today was one...!

My girls are great with the deals. They soooo get it. But DH...depends on the deal and the day. Great if you fill the cart for him, hand him the coupons, explain the deal, and tell him exactly what he should pay. Otherwise, it is hit or miss on some days.

The problem I found with doing this is what I reded above. They don't usually know what to do if the amount isn't right.

Like last night I went in to Kmart and my coupons weren't doubling. I put this last senerio together REALLY quick so I thought maybe I just didn't figure it right so I through something else on I knew I would need. They still didn't double. So I added something else. They still didn't double. Here I found out my Kmart card wasn't scanned. So the csm voided it and we started all over. Gosh that was embarrasing. BUT I sat there until I figure it out. Not pay and THEN figure it out. (That would have been a nightmare )

So worse case senerio if a total is not coming out I either QUICK figure it out or just have the order voided and I step aside and figure it out. Not doing ANY transactions that don't come out right. I would rather fold on the order.

Exactly why I tell him a total...should have said 'approximate' though, not exact!
