| Kmart registers and coupons
Why is it that Kmart registers are so OLD!?!? I spent nearly 1/2 hour in line (with my two kids) attempting to check out yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately the woman in front of me had a bunch of coupons and totally pissed off the cashier so that when I got up to check out, she was already in a bad mood. She made me line up all my q's on top of the items they went with which totally threw off the use of the BOGO's with the $1/1's since you have to do those in a particular order for them to go thru. I had to teach her about the store's coupon policy, plus she had to call over the customer service cashier three times. She read EVERY single coupon I had. Plus, on top of that, the Kmart registers make the cashiers pick the items the q's are supposed to match up with instead of the computers just knowing like every other store in the world. After 20 minutes, my 6yo says to me, "Mommy, I have to go to the bathroom!" So, I looked at the cashier and said "Look this is taking a while, I need to take him." So there I am running thru Kmart with two kids in tow and I still got back before she had figured everything out! I was able to receive the $10, $5 and $3 but them I tried to use the #5 and $3 in my next transaction and the cashier tried to tell me I could only use one and they only could be used on certain items. ARGH!! I can't tell you many times I said "I promise you I'm not trying to rip you off!" "Yes, you can do it. Trust me, it's in your coupon policy." "Yes, you can. I've done this before!" After I got done, I nearly invited the cashier to the nearest bar to buy her a drink. I surely needed one!

I know just what you mean. Super out dated equipment and super slow! I feel like I need at drink after Kmart also, . I try to avoid taking my kids with me but it's hard in summer.

I agree that they are super outdated, and that was working. The other day, I had a register froze up on me super close to finishing, like one last coupon to go. Had to shut down and reboot. Waited for 10 minutes and nada. Had to check out at CS, and mind you they do not have a catalina machine. Had to write to Catalina Marketing to get my catalina. Kmart has smoking deals but do have to sacrifice lots of time in getting them. In another word, we pay in time. |

Actually, their registers are fairly new, they just suck. LOL I want to say that they all got the new registers maybe 2 1/2 - 3 years ago. Just imagine going through a transaction on those registers when they were brand new and nobody knew how they worked when there were unlimited $2 doubles!! NIGHTMARE! It would easily take 2 hours to check out a basket of stuff. |

I had one cashier monday night... she read EVERY coupon, compared it to each product and had another cashier check the expiration dates on every single one "just in case" they were expired. Luckily no kids with me, but it took her forever as she had to get help to scan coupons, and attach each coupon to the right item. I tried to explain the koolaid was a filler... but yeah, it amazes me how long buying stuff with coupons takes there!

ok so my trip where "if it doesnt scan we cannot take it" then one did scan and they still couldnt take it... seems to be a normal for kmart, glad i am not alone in my miserable trip there

you would think that with them being a extreme coupon sponsor they would be super trained on how to use and accept coupons! at my store or ex store i could only use 4 p&g coupons and they cannot be the same, and i could only do one transaction a day, i just drive further up the road and do as many transactions as i want and use as many coupons as i want as well, does anyone know of a link were it describes the wording on the P&G coupons, so i can explain to them that i can use four of each kind not just four

Z & G's Mom: LOL that sounds just like my situation at kmart the other day. Complete diaster it almost makes it funny! But they told me the same thing about the $5 & $3 cat, wondering how others are able to use it in the same transaction? so he only took the $3 cat. But anyways I felt bad for my cashier he was trying to be nice just nothing in that store was cooperating. |

| You can call the Catalina Corp to get any missed Catalinas at 1-877-210-1917. Be sure to have your receipt handy as they will ask you for information from it and may ask you to email your receipt to them but they are pretty good about getting you those missed Catalinas in a week or so. And they will likely have new expiration dates a little further out so you have time to use them. At least that is my experience. I too have had difficulties at Kmart but have made friends with the manager so he has made things a little easier for my daughter and I to shop there. HTH!
