If you thaw them in the refrigerator they come out great. I never was a big fan of frozen buns until I read a post from someone who said to thaw them in the refrigerator. Thought I would give it a try and you couldn't tell the difference. In fact there were about 14 people here yesterday eating fridge thawed hotdog buns and no one knew any different. I'm going to try it. I need a bunch of hamburger BUT I would hate to have to throw the hamburger buns away. |

I have heard if you keep the bread away from the sides and bottom of the freezer it does better! i think its fine to freeze it up to a month no difference

Oh I also figured out the best way to handle hotdogs. I only eat hotdogs so often and my grandson doesn't like them. So I just buy the Ball Park Single and stick them in the freezer. Then I just rip on hotdog off when I want one. Otherwise when I put them in the fridge I would eat like 2 from the package and the rest would go bad before I ate them. I'm hoping maybe I can try that with the hamburger buns when I want to make hamburgers. Otherwise I have just been using bread for hamburgers.

Hmm someone said this: I freeze them all the time. Try putting them in a brown paper bag if you are freezing long term. I do not know why that works but it does. |

Oh then someone suggested this: Before I stick them in the freezer, I place a paper towel beneath the bread or buns inside the plastic bag. As they thaw, the moisture collects in the paper towel. They're less likely to get hard that way. Someone said the cheapo ones freeze the best and those look like cheapos in the Kmart ad. LOL Last edited by tracysbeans; 05-19-2012 at 11:55 AM. |
