Thought I'd share the Kmart Layaway Info since Christmas is sneaking up on us. (Also we know how Kmart is at being informative LOL).

*A Layaway is 8 weeks long. (So your pick-up date will be 8 weeks from when you put in on)
*The Service Fee is $5.00
*The cancellation/restock fee is $10. So, if you cancel your layaway you will lose the $5 Service AND $10 Cancel=$15 total lost. You will be refunded any payments you made OVER $15. This applies the same when your layaway is "returned to stock" (you haven't made payments on time).
*Most Kmarts DO have a 12 week option available- it will pop up with a total of $350 or more. The difference is that you pay a $10 service fee, and a $20 cancellation fee.
*The down payment is $15 or 10%, whichever amount is greater (so $150 or more you will need 10% down)
*Payments are made every two weeks. (So for an 8 week plan you will have 4 total payments) You have a 7 day grace period to make payments.
*Payments are 25% of the purchase price
*Payments are accepted @ the Layaway counter with or without a receipt. Payments can be accepted at any register with your first layaway receipt (this is the only one that can be scanned). Some Kmarts are transitioning to have all registers include the layaway look-up screen.
Payments can also be made online at kmart.com/layaway. Select "Make a Payment", make an account with your email, & 6 digit contract number (found on any layaway receipt)

*You CANNOT put these items on layaway:
Food, Beer, Cigarettes, Alcohol
Prescriptions
Gas
Pool Chemicals
Anything with an expiration date and/or time sensitive
Magazines, Newspapers
Cell phones, Prepaid cards, Beepers
Personal Computers
No Seasonal Items- some Kmarts WILL put Christmas items on with a cut off date to pick up

*Partial takeouts are not permitted. (You can't take some things off & leave others on-the WHOLE order comes off at once)
*Person initiating must be the one to pick up with a valid ID
*Anyone can make a payment
*Customers may only receive 1 price adjustment withing 7 days of initiating order. No adjustments on clearance (The computer will give you the better deal- if the item was cheaper last week it will stay @ that price).
*Customers can have more the 1 layaway as long as all accounts are in good standing.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if you can use coupons on the items that you are putting on layway. I have alot of hasbro coupons but I wasn't sure if I could use them when I put items on layway. Please Help

I used some of the Fisher Price $5 off coupons for my last layaway. The coupons applied to my payment due that day.

You say no computers BUT I thought I saw a computer in the ad that stated put on layaway and make 4 payments for it.
