| Question on exchanging
I bought some ziploc bags during doubles and I thought that my son grabbed the freezer ones but instead he grabbed the storage ones. So I went back today and explained to them what had happened and they told me that they could only give me .56 a piece of the bags and that they could not exchange them even with the reciept. Could someone please explain to me why they could not just exchange the storage bags for the freezer bags? I even talked to a manager and he said that I could do it and the customer service could over ride the total but she would not change it for me and told that is all that I could get for the bags...I thought I didn't understand and left. My son was with me and dropped his change so I went back in to get it for him and she was calling the manager telling on me...I was not rude so I was just don't really understand what was going on....can someone please help me? |

I exchanged some Glade refills from the doubles sale. I wanted apple cinnamon and my son grabbed the berry one (both red, I guess). I thought it should be easy... it took 30 minutes and six people to figure it out . They had to do a return and a new purchase. At first they told me I would owe money since the doubles event was over. WHAT?!?!?!? Um, no, I don't think so. Took forever, but they figured it out. I made it pretty clear (politely) that I wasn't gonna leave until they did. You have every right to exchange them if you have the receipt. Go back and get your bags!

Wow, great customer service, huh? And K-Mart wonders why the parking lot is empty? Can you just plain return them? I know you won't get the value of the doubled Q but you should get what you paid plus the value of just the regular Q since they will be paid for it. I would take them back and go spend that money some where else on the bags you need. Do you have another K-Mart close to you? Maybe a different one would be more "user friendly".

I found that if you return something that you buy on double coupon day, they will give you the total amount of the coupon (doubled) back in cash

Kmart registers do all kinds of funny things. If you use a Kmart Savings Coupon on your order the register will deduct some of that from your return value. I'm not sure how it figures out how much to deduct, but it never seems to be fair or in the customer's favor. Then it will deduct something from the return value for any coupons you used and the double amount. I wonder: if you bought an item that was $2, used a $1 coupon (doubled), and used a $5/$50 on your order - would you have to pay Kmart if you wanted to return that item? It would almost be fun to try just to see what happpens... About the Ziploc - I bought a bunch of freezer and storage bags. My DS opened 7 or 8 boxes (both kinds) and mixed them all together. I tried to sort them out, but couldn't find any differences between the bags. I haven't tried them in the freezer yet, so I can't guarentee they are the same, but they sure looked the same to me. |
