Okay, first i'll give you the rave in case you dont want to read the rest....sorry if its been posted. but at my Jewel they had all the schick razors, men and womens, including the intuition, trimmer, quatro, on budget buy for $5.99. Makes a great deal if you have the current q's for $4 off. I know there are the men's out there that are still good, and some of the women's depending on where you got yours! okay rant..... had to go to parents (watching their dog) and the only store that is open this late (DREADFUL) near them is Jewel. I don't like shopping at this one, and after tonights visit, it truly reminds me why! It was about 10:30pm, and I know that usually you don't have alot of customers at this time, but HELLO, it is the holiday weekend! anyhow, only 2 lines open (1 at first) and both have 10-12 customers in each (seriously!!) and only my luck, cart loads!! i was only going in there to get pop, but when I seen a sign overhead the pop saying buy $25 participating products get $10 back. sweet... I was already buying $15 in pop, I will go get fruit snacks and such. anyhow go to checkout, didn't get this $10. so the UNfriendly service desk person went searching for this sign... I showed her after she insisted there wasn't one. (it is a HUGE sign, and she was making me feel like I was interrupting her!) oh she says, its old. I said, oh, I didn't know that. so she says well I will have to give the $10 back to you...okay! so as we get to the desk she says, I will have to put this back on your card. I said, um, okay. She got snippy with me (and I really just simply said okay) and said this is the way Jewel does it, it goes back on your card if you had gotten it. I said ummm no it wouldn't have. argue, argue and argue...I said if I had gotten it I would have a coupon in my hand. I said "I didn't have a problem with you crediting the card, you made it difficult by being snippy. (now mind you I wouldn't be so mean if she wasn't rude to me and was snippy!) I then said " you know I didn't come in here to shop to be treated so rudely" and she said "then shop elsewhere!" and YES she really said that to me! I said "oh don't worry, I do, I shop at Dominicks, Walmart, Ultra, Food4Less, do I need to go on?" she obviously didn't like that! I told her I will be calling corporate, and she said great, my name is *********** she gave me her full name and said do you want me to write the number down? geez.... I really wasn't even rude. I was feeling all good about sharing my q's with a guy I seen buying certain products. I don't get it. Okay sorry so long..thanks for letting me vent it out! UPDATE: The store manager from the Jewel did call me, and he was very sorry about her behavior, and knew exactly who I was talking about! He said there would be displinary action, not only including a write up. He said that she should not have treated me this way, and that I am right, Jewel is trying to keep their customers, so this is the wrong way to be doing it!

Sorry to hear that cashier was so rude!! I would definitely contact corporate or the store and let them know what happened! Jewel is definitely not the cheapest store around and really should appreciate their customers more.

Sorry to hear that you got one of those snotty cashiers!!!!! I would definitely contact Corp. and the Manager at the store. Maybe she needs to find another job, since she is not happy working with the public with a better attitude or just maybe she needs a attitude adjustment.

I'm sooo sorry this happened to you. I had a REALLY rude cashier a few weeks ago (I had a coupon "Buy any 2 Kotex products, get 1 free" and she actually told me I had to buy 4 to get 1 free). Anyway, I was LIVID and I fired off an email to jewel's corporate office. The next day I got a phone call from my local jewel store with an apology, she said she would talk to the cashier and she sent me a $20 Jewel gift card for the hassle. Definitely contact them. They need to know about these cashiers. Jewel says they charge higher prices for better customer service but lately, I have not noticed such great customer service !!

it was in Shorewood.... and I did call corp! the lady at corp was so in shock! She totally agreed with me (which I expected, but she was geniune!) and said she was forwarding it on ASAP, she said no way should any of the Jewel employees tell a customer they can shop elsewhere! Of course I totally agree! thanks for all the replies! we will see what happens...ill update! happy 4th of July

I don't get why some employees feel they need to protect Jewel from customers trying to get the best deal. They should try to make the best deals as well. I have dropped the dime to cashiers on kick butt deals and they are stunned. They almost always say that they are going to get some of those items. Oh well. Sorry you had one of "Those". I once had an assistant manager have to key in my sale because of so many coups. She said, "Oh, you're one of those couponers" with complete contempt. I just smiled. WooF |
