OK...I am able to get back on to do the list now...Snowdiva and I have talked about it a bit...

I have a question or two..

What are the best things about the Jewel list?

What things are just unnecessary with the Jewel list?

Do you Like it as early as possible? (For me that is Wednesday afternoon for completion assuming I have nothing going on while DS is in preschool.) or does timing not play a big part.

Is it more beneficial to have the list of items that are on the big sales....(like 12345 miraculously posts every time) over having the a list?

Is a scan of the coming up sale a good enough for you or do you depend on the list?

Reason I ask is because there has not been a list here for a number of weeks...2 I think...and you all never complain...(what a sweet group of ladies if I do say so myself)

So please chime in would you...let us know what is important to you. You guys are so cool and the newbies hitting the site are gonna love you

I honestly never look at the list. I have looked at it two times and find it more confusing than anything. I look at the ad scan on here and look for things that are at good prices that I need. Then from there, I look at the posts to see what other people are doing. I think that if people post scenarios and give feedback that is the best way to go. Then it would save you ladies from having to do all that work!

I don't want to be rude, but I never look at the list either... if it's a matter of coupons, I just look them up in the data base (here and elsewhere) myself...

I think I'm trying to keep up with too many stores LOL.... yes, I also love reading what others have come up with...... it's tough to find them ALL yourself... sooo many sites to check, so many catalina deals to keep track of..... it's been mind-boggling the last few weeks... maybe a separate thread for each catalina deal with pertinent info..... then UPC lists if available.... then whoever does a deal can post what worked for them... uh oh... i think i'm rambling and getting OT...

And I will be happy to keep scanning the ads as soon as I get them, whenever I can...

I looked at it once...but had no idea how I was supposed to use it and never looked again.

Then again, I was the idiot that didn't know what a SLA was (is that right, SLA?) Probably because I never heard of it on any forums board ever in the 9 years I had been on grocery forums, .

I like the hot deals posted...that is all I post and all I use. Any cheaps/frees (advertised and unadvertised)...which takes an entire forum community to keep up with.

see I never use it either but I do type it in and I have been able to remember a lot of sales from it...but I have never gone back and "USED" it...interested in what others say

As a few AFC member ..I have been reading the Jewel forum for about 1 month only and I tried using once but didn't really like it so I'm sorry that you are putting all that time on it. I seriously love to read the post that people leave for all the deals and I love seeing all the main sale items. Thank you for the hard work.

I find the ad scan (by that you mean the photo of each page of the flier, right?) much more helpful than a shopping list, but that's because I'm visual. I love seeing it on here because I never get it in my mailbox.

Anything that you do is far more that I can or do, so it's all appreciated!

Prefer the ad scan too, and really really love when scenarios are posted and when other posts their transactions/deals. But thank you for all your work.

Okay, I'm chiming in....

I LOVE the actual ad scan...(I'm a visual person) so I NEED to see it to process it!

I don't really care for the shopping list either.

I LOVE reading the deals members came up with and did. ***the only thing about these types of post is that I WISH the title listed more information and by that I mean...please post Spend 10.00 get back 5.00 PEPSI/KRAFT deal going now until 3/22/09.

That way, when someone is scanning the posts you know what's going to be posted when you click on it. I hate titles that only say Free Bread.*** Does that make sense??

I used to love the shopping lists when they were in an excel format, but still do better with the actual posts spelling out...

buy xyz, use abc, get 123, all for no OOP... Haha

I don't use the shopping list either. I get my ad in my Wednesday paper so I usually sit down Wednesday night, scan the ad and pull out the coupons I will need for my shopping trip.

Thanks for posting this thread Deb. Its good to know we aren't disappointing anyone by not getting them up right away. I'm glad you posted this, so that we can get an idea of how many people actually use the Shopping List!

I don't think the list is available because no one is making the list. It's just a coupon matchup list, like on the coupon mom website...WE really don't need it
