In the state of IL it is illegal to make someone purchase HARD liquor to save $ on an item (unless its a store q), and the q will say this on the back, and even sometimes on the front.
there are other states that sometimes it will state on the q that the liquor is not required.

you have to look for the q's in the liquor dept. I have found them at my Ultra Foods, Food4Less, Jewel, and Strak N Vantil.

you use the tag just like a q, depending on what it is for. I had found a bunch of em for free bags of ice, $1 off 2liter coke/sprite, and even better ones, like $10 off 4 mixers (which oj, sprite, etc are items you can mix with the liquor!)

Thankx... I have found them at Jewel but often they willl give me a hard time about using them without purchasing the liquor. I am in Schaumburg. Some Jewels refuse to accept them because as they say anyone can just take them off the liquor bottles. I have seen them left in stacks and not actually on the bottles in the liquor bottles. Any help?

yeah that is crazy, cause they even put them on a board at some of my Jewels when you go to enter the liquor dept. But honestly, you will find quite a few cashiers giving you a hard time, even at other stores, unless they have already dealt with a similar previous situation. as long as it isn't a store q, and is a manu q, and it states on that q, that you don't have to purchase the liquor, it is really on you on how much you want to push that issue. usually after showing the cashier that lovely saying "no alcohol purchase required in the state of IL" they do it. I have heard of people being able to use them through self check out, but that is one I do not know about!
oh and yes, anyone can go and take them off, tell them prove to me that I was one of them!
