Jennjenn and I were talking about this earlier but there weren't enough people at the time. With the board getting a little busier I was hoping that maybe we could start up an Expired Coupon Train. I have tons of expired coupons and I would love to join this Train - Please email me directly with details I don't get to check this site that often. I am in the Schaumburg areas and would love to do something with all these expired coupons I have a binder filled with coupons but I am having a problem keeping current and expired organized. Anyone have a tips I don't have alot of time to spend organizing so I need some fast tips please share your wisdom with me

When I organize my coupons I use the expandable files (the binder was hard for me) and I just have 1 for expired coupons and 1 for non expired coupons. I tend to take them both with me and then have them in a tote bag for me to pull out when I need them. I don't know how long it will be until the expired one fills up but figured I will just sort through it again and pick out coupons I know I won't use (if I haven't bought it in a year or more).

This is a great idea!! I have tons of expired, but right now I am going to have to pass..I just don't think I will have the time!! I can barely keep up with my binder!!! : )

Wishbone27, definitely count me in. I've never done a train so I'm a little lost BUT I have a ton of coupons to contribute. My Jewel will accept ALL expireds.

I'm in, too! We can use expireds here at Jewel but I'm not sure if there's a limit to how long ago they expired. They're pretty relaxed at my Jewel so I wouldn't be surprised if I could use Qs from the '80s

I'm not up for a train, at the moment, BUT I wanted to mention what I do to help organize my expireds in my binder.

I use the clear sectioned business card sheets in my binder. I added stickers to some of the windows and in those I keep the expireds. So I don't have two separate binders, and I don't spend time organizing two separate things.

When I am inserting my new qs, I check the sheet I'm on and move any expireds I'd like to keep to a window with a sticker.

Okay, I am going to set up a Jewel Osco Expired Train group and then invite everyone who has shown interest and we can work it from there. One thing I ask is that all members have a wishlist posted so we can know what each other is looking for.

I would probably be interested at some point - but life is too hectic at the moment! I can take coupons expired up to 90 days - as well as CVS brand coupons up to 60 days. I always feel bad throwing out my qs that are past 90 days, so this would be a great idea at some point for me!

i dont need any coupons so i dont have a wish list but,
i have many coupons ( though most are not expired yet ) so i would be glad to send them along
and since im in NO NEED of any shavers, toothbrushes/paste shampoos/conditioners or med OH and hair dye i wold be VERY VERY glad to get rid of those.
I live in New Lenox and i can mail out quickly as to make a weekly deal if needed

Jewel stopped taking expired 5/1 and this thread is over 7 months old. My assumption is the train is derailed since no one has responded since February.

Yes, sorry, this train never really left the station and got fast enough to derail. I still save my expired coupons up to a year for Dominicks if you wanted to do a trade but the train itself probably won't be going anywhere.
