I bought 8 of the HC Cafe Steamers --- the regular tag price is $4.49...... the sale price w/out preferred card is $4.00....... the sale price with preferred card is $2.50. I wanted to know if buying at the shelf price would trigger the catalina, so I bought 8 of them at $2.50 so my cost was $20 (cost towards the the cat deal was 8 x $4=$32) and used eight 75 cents coupons (6.00) and the $7 catalina DID get generated!!! Final cost after cat and q's was 88 cents per steamer!

This is the only item I've tried so far....Also, I'm not sure that all the items have these 3 different prices like the steamers did..... for instance, the shelf tag for the HC Mixers is $3.99, and the sale price w/o pref card is $3.95 I believe, so not much difference there... the HC soup shelf tag says $2.79 and the sale price w/o pref card is $2.75, so almost the same..... but hopefully, in all cases, like in the one I tried, it is the sales price BEFORE pref card (or the shelf price) that determines the amount towards the catalina deal, NOT the sales price AFTER Pref Card....

Thanks for testing the waters. Are the HC steamers good? I haven't tried them.

Haven't tried them yet either.... and at the regular price of $4.49 each, I probably wouldn't LOL! But hopefully they'll be a great lunch/light dinner for DS who eats non-stop!!!

I have lots of $1 q's for the HC mixers, and will probably do the same deal with those, but the sale price is $3, so they won't be quite as cheap...

I need to double check my math, but with the 75/3 coupons out there on the soup, I think those would come to about 40 cents each.... good soup weather here!!!

I bought 11 cans of Hunts Diced tomatoes (sale price for calculation was 1.80) and 6 boxes of Orville Redenbacher popcorn (BOGO - price = 3.49)

so:

11 X 1.80
3 X 3.49

Total before scanning preferred card = 30.27
After scanning card = 21.47

I had lots of Qs and out came my $7 catalina!
