Has your Jewel been remodeled?

Our store is undergoing the process and I am totally not sure if I like it at all. I don't like the long isles because when I shop, I just go for the sales/loss leaders and I feel trapped in an isle. I think they are doing this so you stay in the store longer. Thoughts?

Our just finished their remodeling about a month ago and truthfully, I love it. It looks more modern and I'm loving the flat screen tvs with the cooking tips & jay leno!! I'm now to the point where I almost know where everything is ... that was the only pain ... relearning the new layout of the store but I always go down every aisle anyway.

My Jewel has just been built a few years ago so it came with all the new technology and fancy layout. I don't like going into the older stores as much now because they seem smaller and don't have the same layout.

Our little Jewel closed down and it was great to just run in for some milk or a few things.

The Jewel I go to now has been recently remodeled and I don't see a huge difference. I don't like the tv screens all over, especially the ones in the checkout lane. I have 4 boys and a noisy house, so stuff like that gets on my nerves since I usually shop alone and want some quiet.

We do have several self-check lanes now. I will use them if I have a few things, but the other lanes are now constantly backed up because most people won't use them for a big purchase.

So I don't see much of a benefit from the remodel at all.

Mary

I was at our Jewel yesterday and I hate having to figure out where they put things. I do like the fact that finally it is more organized but I hate the way the yogurt, cheese and other products are in those open fridges.

A few of the Jewels in my area have remodeled over the last year or so. I'm in NW Chicago suburbs area. One of the Jewels put in these shaded hanging lights throughout the store. My husband hates it. He calls it "mood" shopping. Not enough light for those of us who are no longer in our 20s.

I hate the new darker lighting, its depressing. I went on Sunday and its still under construction. I am not feeling the love like I used to for that store.

Ughh I hate them and I am so mad that the store was remodeled. It is way too dark in there now. I guess the only reason they put up those stupid lights was so we couldn't see how high the prices are now.

FYI my store had a week only regrand opening sale and milk went down to $1.49. It was totally an unexpected deal since the paper said $1.99 so be on the look out for some good milk prices if your store has a grand reopening sale!

I'm in the Southwest Suburbs and my Jewel is in the process of being remodelled. They are adding a floral department and have a map of the store when you walk in. I'll be curious what the final remodel looks like.
