Sorry, somehow I missed last week - my ad situation is a nightmare with the Tribune and I have no internet access for security reasons at work, so I was out of the loop.

Anyway, I do actually plan to go to Jewel during this sale week, woo hoo!

I got a lot of cereal! Yesterday at checkout I got a cat for $2/5 GM cereal. I went to use it today and I didn't have to because there were $1/2 peelies on all of the GM cereal. It printed another cat too, so I might be heading back for 10 more boxes. We were down to 4 boxes of kix so my kids are happy to have something new (I never knew plain cheerios would make them so happy ) The Quaker cereal deal is pretty good too.

What's going on with the Tribune? I had to cancel my subscription because for some reason they only know how to deliver ONE copy to my house, instead of the 4 that I paid for.

Nothing looks good to me there.. this week or lately.

Am I the only one disappointed in the sales there recently? Thought I saw something about profits being waaay down and some stores possibly closing but I just skimmed the article so maybe I got it wrong... is anyone liking JFU and deal match at Domi's better?
Not sure how Jewel can compete with that

You're not the only one, though I was super excited for $1.50 boxes of cereal. It used to be that I wouldn't pay more than $1 but times have changed. I have been doing almost all of my shopping at Costco and Super Target. I haven't tried shopping Dominicks in over 3 years. Nothing ever rang up right and they were such a PITA about coupons. I might have to learn a new store though

It's been a few weeks for me, but I did go and get the above on Sat. I also found Sweet Leaf tea singles for .60 on clearance, so .05 each after coupon .

I buy my produce mostly at Caputo's and the rest from Dom's. And buy meat pretty evenly between those two based on sales at Caputo's and clearance + J4U at Dom's. I do love J4U and Deal Match, but I have to say if you are using Deal Match, there has to be something decent on sale at Jewel, no? It sure isn't Target....

That's a good point, but it seems like while there is the occasional item or few items on sale there, not enough to warrant a whole trip... esp when with deal match, those items can be gotten at Domi... plus I wonder what the effect of those Walmart price match ads is ? I hope Jewel's new prices will help but so far, I have not been too impressed, IMHO, of course

I mean, how many eggs can you buy at once ?.. cackling here...

I agree, I was mostly kidding. Dom's is closer to me (walkable) anyway so sometimes those Deal Match items allow me to get the decent items even when it isn't worth it to go to Jewel for them.

FWIW I think those WM ads are dumb. Most of the comparisons would fall apart if you just buy when the stuff is on sale.

I keep seeing in the ads that they've lowered the price of beer. The last two times I stopped in, the beer price was not lowered.

I kind of want the Quaker oatmeal squares. Those are a big hit for snack foods around here (kids will eat them dry out of a baggie). But Jewel is so stinkin FAR now.

I'll have to investigate Dom's and learn how to shop there (sorry Trish! I just don't have love for Jewel ), they're really close and there's a Starbucks in it.... I tried Dom's a few years ago when I started doing the whole coupon thing but it was such a nightmare and Jewel was on fire back in those days...

Robbo, just how I have come to feel - switched loyalty altogether - IMHO, Jewel is not what is was and the Domi promos are worth learning about.

Don't feel bad for me - I shop more at Dom's too! The Safeway forum is decent for Dom's deals but a lot of it is different and there are so many regional differences within the Safeway family, so it is tough. And apparently the word "Dominick's" breaks the forum, so it is not really in the cards, .

J4U can be awesome, they have great clearance, Deal Match, etc. Plus mine doubles, so Jewel has stiff competition here.

My new Caputo's ad also said they are lowering everyday prices, so I am interested to see what that means...

So why is there no longer have a Domi forum? Maybe wasn't enough interest before but it appears that may have changed? Based on what you've said above, doesn't sound like Safeway forum is a great fit? Not sure what you mean by the word Domi breaking the forum? And btw, are Safeway & Domi store Qs and cats interchangeable, if anyone knows ? TYIA !

Still have same questions as above post BUT Jewel did have a good ad today with peppers, yogurt, and the save $2 promo (incl the referral provisions).

Can anyone explain how the fuel rewards works? You get a separate card (not the Jewel card) and then what ?

Also I noticed Einstein Qs in today's inserts - will have to try to get a couple more .

As far as Dominick's - I don't know why the forum got disappeared. I also don't know why the word breaks the forum, but if you use it in the title, the posts are unviewable.

The Safeway forum works okay for Dom's. Lots of the sales are the same but the sale is shifted 1 day earlier, so Wed-Tue.
