Well I had an interesting trip to the store today thought I could make some $7 dollar catalinas and no luck.

Here is the Deal I tried to do .

4 Wheaties Fuel Cereal at $2:49 a box with a $1 dollar internet coupon making it $1.50 a box . Nomarmally the cereal costs $5.39 should have added up to $26.95.. Does the total cost have to be after preferred card savings to get the $7 cata?

I guess I could have bought 10 boxes and 10 coupons and made the price.

I bought the Usual Suave ,bread , ragu SS , Pepsi Max , Eggs ,and a % pound bag of russet potatoes for a change. I thought it would be the wrong kind its was $2.79 and I saw a 1 dollar catalina print out right after it so thats the one .

Next Deal I tried to gain the $7 dollar catalina was 4 bags of Nutclusters using 4 $1 dollar off internet coupons . Making it a $1.50 a bag . I love this things by the way . also 2 cans of Progresso soup for good measure using a 50cent coupon off 2 cans . I thought it would make the $20 dollars as well then no Catalina for 7 dollars . I got a bunch of crap for wanting to pay with all Catalinas . THe Cashier supervisor didnt like the fact I was using Internet coupons and so many catalinas to pay and refused to take my Catas after my total got to $5 . Kinda ticked me off but I kept cool.


So what am I doing wrong ? Is there anyway for me to get my catalinas now that I already left the register ?

Figured Id help out the gf a bit with the shopping . She picked out the non sale items that she wanted at the time . I think it was 16 dollars total . IF I had received the two 7 dollar catalinas that is but still about 31 dollars standing right now ... not to bad at all I think .

I do not know why this did not print..did the Wheaties ring up $5.39 price before card and $2.49 PS...What was you total for this order.

I know some of the soup the price before card was $1.99..was that the case for your soup? I did 2 seperate orders yesterday and my last order the $7 cat took a LOOONG time to print. Sorry you had a bad time with this.

Definitely look at your receipt. The price that comes up before the preferred savings line is the one that is used for the purchase total. Sometimes, just to be sure, I scan the items first to check the total is what I think it should be, then scan my preferred card to get the sale prices. But don't do this with the Your Bucks items in with the other stuff, I think the YB Cat print is dependent on the card being scanned before the YB item.

Your Wheaties Fuel did add up to 21.56 (4 x 5.39), but that one wasn't part of the deal (just the regular Wheaties). There are specific UPCs that work for the deals (usually more products than are shown in the ad). The stores have these lists if you ask or you may find them on other couponing sites.

On your other order, I'm guessing that one of the soups was not on the included UPC list.

Yes - I just came to take back my post - I mis-read the UPC list! The one I was looking at said Wheaties Toasted, so I assumed that was not Fuel. Then saw another post saying that the description was wrong and the UPC was for the Fuel.

Yeah im not sure what happened . Should I have had them scan the wheaties fuel first then give them my card ? Just a thought let the cat print out and then get the preferred savings ? I am going to try one more time tonight for my own house cause I love wheaties and nutclusters . SO we will see.

These Cats don't come out until after you pay, so the order of scanning the items and your card shouldn't matter. I just do the scan the card after if I am checking that my total is correct before continuing.

Also, bethcg said that her cat took a long time to print. You might have to stand there for awhile and wait. I'll tell them I'm expecting to get a cat and move slowly zipping my coat, putting my change away, etc.

I just did the wheaties deal today and it took quite a while for the $7.00 to print. I didnt realize it hadnt printed and almost left without it. The nice cashier called me back and gave it to me.

browncar, you didn't do anything wrong. The reason why your GM cats didn't print is because the cashier entered in the coupons that wouldn't scan as "GROCERY." S/he should have done an override instead and those lines should have look like this:
OP SCANNED COUPON
instead of
MC GROCERY

I would call Catalina (888.826.8766) at this point. Have your receipts in hand when you call (they'll ask you for some numbers off them) and they will mail you the cats you should have gotten.

My cats took a long time to print as well. The cashier did not want to give them to me because she had already started to scan the next customer's items. I had to call the manager over to have her look at my receipt and she then instructed the cashier to hand me my cats.

Well last night I tried doing it again and the guy at the self checkout was very helpful . He asked the manager at the customer service counter . She said I needed to buy 20 dollars after Preferred and cats to get the RR. I just said forget the transaction . I even scanned all the items waited a while with out preferred savings and nothing was coming. So I just canceled the transaction and got the regular stuff to roll the coupons . Maybe this week ill have better luck .I'll give them a call and see what they can do for me . Thanks for the help everyone.

I had an AWESOME time with this today!!! The BC fruit snacks are now $1...buy $11 and get the $7 oynso and the $3.50 DD!!

Awesome fun shopping day! I did mine this way:

Buy 11 for $11
use 5 $1/2 peelies now $6 (then used $6 in yourbucks)
got back a $7 and a $3.50

I did 5 of those and made $22.50 over what I had in catalinas wakling in the door!!!)

No YB catalinas print regardless of when you scan your preferred card.

Browncar, catalina won't help. they will insist it is $20 after preferred card and coupons and promise to give you a decision (not a catalina) in 8-12 weeks. They are worthless.

I return and retry before I leave the store.

Your preferred card is readable...others can use your number to get yourbucks or your Avenu...I would black that out in the future if you are going to scan your receipts.

You have several coupons entered as "grocery" any coupons entered this way will cost you your catalinas. That is the most obvious problem.

Sorry catalina is worthless to you, but I've had good luck with them. *knock on wood* I had to fax them my receipt, but I got the catalina I should have received within the month.

browncar, let us know if catalina came through for you. I'm interested to know if I was just lucky or if they'll give you the "after preferred card/coupons" spiel as barb said. I agree with her that it's best to return and rebuy before you leave the store though.

Was it a buy a certain number of items get a catalina? Like buy 10 get $10? or a $$/$ deal? I have been leading Jewel forums for YEARS AND YEARS and catalina has been consitently singing that you have to meet the $20 after preferred card and coupons.
