Anyone in North East Iowa know which Sunday Paper the CVS Ad can be found in?

Every now and then I got one in one of my Newspapers. I can get the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Dubuque Herald, Courier and the Des Moine Times, this week it was in none of them. I'd love to be able to do price matching as CVS is way to far away for us to just pop into.

I get mine from the Iowa City Press Citizen on Saturdays..only costs .75 and has all the ads and coupons in it. I know Cedar Rapids will be having a brand new CVS opening so maybe they will start carrying it regularly soon.
Another thought is that I know the Cedar Rapids Gazette puts out ads that pertain to the area the paper is sold in. For example the HyVee's and Fareways in Cedar Rapids start their ads on Tuesday, but the ones in Iowa City and Coralville don't start til Wednesday. So if I pick up the Gazette in Coralville on Tuesday it will not have the ads in it, but if I buy it in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday it will have the ads in it. Does that make sense? It might be why you are not getting it on a regular basis. HTH

Tell me more about this new CVS in CR? Where will it be? Now you have me all excited!! I really love the one on Center Point, the cashiers are all very friendly and no problems with coupons.

Hello fellow Iowans! Yes, I'm interested too. I haven't heard anything about a new CVS. I live like a mile away from the one on Center Point Rd and also love their cashiers! But for OP, the CR Gazette does have the CVS ad in their paper every Sunday. I don't know of any stores in the area that will price match CVS as most of their items say "with card". But if you are interested in getting a paper with good coupons, I would recommend the Des Moines Register. They tend to have more of the "regional" coupons in it. I can only get the Gazette.

I think it is going up near the walgreens on 16th ave sw....that is what I have heard...guess we will see.

According to the Walmart Price Matching Policy here "We do honor "Preferred Shopping Card" advertised prices. Must be like items, be advertised and require a competitor's shopping card, for the discount to apply"

However this part may conflict with that "We do not honor competitor advertisements from outside of the store's or Club's local trade territory"

I have like 40+ CR Gazettes in the back of the van and not one of them has the CVS ad in, but I will go and double check.

Editing to add that the Gazzette I get is Just called The Gazette so that maybe why. I used to get it occasionally but not lately, I need to choose the right paper to buy on a SUnday morning, I have the Gazette delivered (thanks to a 3 month freebie) and I buy one paper a week, usually the Des Moines Times because of the better ads, all the rest I get for free on a Monday Morning, so I don't get to choose which papers I get, I just get whats left over. And we don't get to CR often enough to buy the paper or go to CVS which is why I want to price match.

here is the deal with cr gazettes

my sisters live 40 minutes from cedar rapids, get the gazette but it doesnt come with cvs. I live in cr/marion and we get it. It also depends on where you buy the gazette or where it is delivered to. They only include cvs in the immediate area papers That is probably why they are not in there. The register gets better inserts here but few ads..its about location

Thanks, that explains it I guess, I'm in Manchester, so probably 40 miles outside CR. I'm just not destined to maximize my coupons I guess!

my sisters live east of cr and they work here so they started buying papers here b/c they were missing out on soooo many things.

Also the ads are different for walmarts and such..we found this out during black friday..my ad had batteries on sale and thier ad did not..weird but that is how they roll
