I was on vacation this week and didn't go till Friday. (Usually go on Thurs. night). DH noticed that our grocery list is getting smaller due to shopping for staples at Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS. I had been spending around 120.00 each week at Ingles. This week was the least I think I have ever paid. My total was 102.23 before coupons and the grand total was 82.93. It has amazed both of us how much we have saved since March 2009. I asked him the other day if he had any idea how much I had saved so far, and he said "not really but I would say over 500.00." Boy was he suprised when I told him 1200.00!!!! He said, "Baby, I sure am proud of you. I know you spend a lot of time to save money and it is worth it." Yes, I melted into a little puddle when he said it, because I know he was so sincere. I just love AFC and all the good and helpful people. God Bless you all!!!!

That is awesome. I really do believe that stockpiling those items that are on sale with coupons makes your overall bill go down. I didn't use to believe that. I thought that I had to buy just enough to last the family one week. Now I buy as much as I have coupons for on the sale items so I don't pay full price for anything. Plus getting stuff for free. So some weeks I spend less than $40 for food and others a bit more. I am slowly getting the pantry and freezer filled which is great feeling.

I noticed the same thing after only doing couponing since March! I really stockpile during HT triples ... too bad they aren't doing it this month ... anyways, I also have found that getting on coupon trains really helps me get a variety of coupons so I don't have to buy multiple papers each week. The forums on here really help match things up so that you really get buys at bottom dollar costs! Where in TN are you? I'm in Boone, NC.
