My store always has lots of clearance items in buggies at the front of the store. Well, they had a bunch of pet foods in there (Mighty Dog, Fancy Feast, Carvers, Alpo). I was going to get some of the Carvers dog treats because they were marked down to $1.79, so $.79 after the $1/1 coupon from a couple weeks ago. They said they don't take coupons on clearance items. Huh? I was just wondering how other people's stores are? I have always been able to use coupons on clearance items at other stores.

Wow, that sounds kind of crazy. I haven't tried it at Ingles, my Ingles is new and I'm not even sure they HAVE any clearance just yet. I know I haven't seen any anyways. Publix lets you, so does Kroger so I don't know why Ingles wouldn't. They still get the same money back from the manufacturer don't they?

That's what I don't understand! They will get the money back, so why not? Oh well! I may try again at another store we have close by and see if they will let me use coupons on the clearance.

The Ingles stores around me (4) won't let me use coupons on clearance. All the other stores around here will but that chain won't. Dumb in my opinion!

Some stores do take it off, like the ones that still scan the barcode and get their clearence prices trhat way. Some smaller stores that have the price manually marked on the top, won't here......its a smaller store, although its a chain store. I guess its a YMMV type of thing.
