I would love to start a discussion on where to find the best deals and where to get coupons for the grocery stores here in Northwest Indiana. Has anyone got great deals at Strack & Van Til? Or do you have a different favorite grocery store? Please share your thoughts and deals. :-)

Stracks is just way too expensive. I shop meijer, target and paylow. I only go to stracks for certain things my husband likes there. He is pretty brand specific on some things.

I wish I could find a store that doubles. Our area is high priced.

I agree that Stracks is expensive, this is why I'm hoping to get others input on where to shop. I do occasionally shop at Meijer but it seems like every time I check out I get into 'the wrong line'. I get behind the lady who can't remember her pin number or the lady who takes 10 mins to search for her credit card in her purse filled with junk. And of course my items are melting on the conveyor belt and i have people behind me or I'd move to another lane. I'm going to try Meijers again tomorrow morning since they are having the 10 for $10 w/ 11th item free. Plus I have some coupons for items included in that sale. I just signed up for Mperks and they have 5% off food tomorrow only. I also got a $2 off my next purchase by signing up. So I'm hoping to score a good deal or two. I've never shopped at PayLow. I always see the ads and there seems to be some good deals. Just not that convenient for me to get to. Please keep me posted on any good deals you might find. Thanks!!

I'm in Hobart and refuse to go to our SVT. I've had issues with expired items, etc. Now the one in Munster, we never had a problem with when we lived in Lansing.

I usually go to Walmart, Meijer or Wiseway. Wiseway doubles, you have to have the insert coupon for it and it's only up to $5, but hey it's something!

I don't get the Sunday paper and need to start looking for inserts to order I guess.

I have noticed that Stracks is having better deals now. Ultra is still the cheapest. I mainly shop between the 3 stores surrounding me...Ultra, Meijer & Stracks

The funny thing is that Stracks owns Ultra. You would think they would run similar deals. Instead of shopping at Stracks this week I decided to go to Town & Country (which is also owned by Stracks) but they had such better deals. It's frustrating that no one doubles coupons around here.

Really? I havent had that problem. I have from the Ultra in Merrillville though. Maybe with the remodeling that the Highland store is doing they arent checking things as good??

There is already a hair salon that puts coupons on there Lucky's Salon it is on Juniper rd off of rt 6 across the road from the old fast eddies in south haven

Hey guys! I'm in South Haven & Shop all over! Al's supermarket in South Haven here doubles up to $0.50, they don't like taking more then 2 like coupons for items tho. Going to check out that new website now. Thanks!

A couple of blogs that I follow for our area are Surviving on Coupons (she's on facebook) and South Suburban Savings. Mummy Deals also does our area, but she's moving away from coupons.
