I've been subscribing to the Tribune forever, but I am getting frustrated with their inability to deliver my papers and today I got a letter that my rate is going up from $1 to $1.79. Does anyone know if the Sun-Times has the same inserts? TIA

I get one copy of the Sun-Times because occasionally they have something that the Trib doesn't, but I would NOT rely on it for coupons generally. All of the same inserts are there, but the SS and RP are always smaller. The SS is usually the same or very close to the one I get in my local paper that comes on Thursday, which is 1/4 the size of the Trib one, I would estimate. The RP is similarly smaller.

The other thing is that with the Sun-Times, pretty much all of the inserts come on Friday and the RP comes on Sunday. So the SS and if there is a P&G, GM, etc., those will be in Friday's paper. I pay $1.00 a week for Friday-Sunday and I am happy with it. Sometimes there are special things with the Sun-Times - a few weeks ago there were 3 little boxes of GM cereal and 3 $1/1 coupons. So those are nice, but I see it as a supplement to my 3 Tribunes. It is also nice to have a few coupons by Friday because I often shop that day.

I haven't tried this yet, but I have heard you can call them and get your rate to stay the same or get a new code applied.

Thank you! That is really great info. I guess I will resort to getting my papers at the $Tree instead. Half the time the Trib doesn't deliver all 4 papers, and it is such a hassle to get it corrected. They tell me someone will re-deliver, but then they never do and I don't get credited for it. I was really hoping to write them off entirely, but I do need my Qs

Menards sells the Sunday Tribune on Saturday for a $1. I hope this helps.
