The Johnston, IA store manager told me yesterday that next week's ad will have a great deal on cereal. Not sure, but I think he said General Mills. Sounds like it'll be a "buy 5 get $10 off" store coupon plus a Catalina will spit out for something. I wasn't tracking exactly what he was saying, but start collecting your cereal coupons now!

it was crazy yesterday at johnston hy vee...

Yes it was crazy! I decided to do my whole week's shopping rather than go in just for the one-day deals. There was an elderly couple in line behind me and I was buying over $100 worth of groceries and had about 20 coupons! The manager checked me out and also had to bag my groceries because they didn't have enough help. That poor couple had to wait forever to buy about 6 things. I felt terrible!

Yes it is in this next week's ad. I am working on the shopping list today. The movie deal would make this awesome! I don't eat a lot of cereal so unless this is free I probably won't get any without the movie deal. Anyone know the price of the cereal so I can add it to the shopping list?

ooooo.....here is what i did...first time in my life i made money with coupons...went & bought 6 10.4 oz cereals..
$1.99x6=11.94..$ got instant $10.00 off + 2 $1.00 coupons from add...made .6 cents..
$2.99 1 johnsonvile sausage-$1.55 coupons=1.44
$.99 for 5lb potato...somehow oop was only$1.37..
got $6 for milk....
second time ussed coupon for milk & yogurt..
$3.24 for milk...
$2.09 for yogurt..
made .67c....
never expected to get money back from vendors coupon but did today..wohooooo...
i'm exited now about shoping....

on my way home stoped at hyvee again to pick up the milk...

We actually do need cereal. But I doubt I will find them for $1.99. I'm guessing at least $3. And Bettycrocker needs to reset thier coupons I can't print the cereal even though it must be 3 months since I've printed them, ggrrrr. I did find the $1/2 and $1/3Qs from the paper...

Well I probably didn't get the best deal I could've on this, but I wanted the boxes with the movie codes. At my Hy-Vee the Cinnamon Toast Crunch with the movie codes was 3.89. The Catalina for the milk didn't print so I had to go over to customer service. Boy was I surprised when it came out and said $6 off milk and didn't specify off a qty of one or anything so I asked the manager and she said she didn't see why I couldn't use it to purchase 2 gallons. Our milk is 3.09 a gallon so I plan to get 2 for next to nothing. I'm happy between getting 3 free movie tickets and the 2 gallons of milk.

I think the movie tickets makes this a great deal! 6 x 3.89 = 23.39 - $10 = 13.39. Is that right? Each ticket is worth $12 so now you can go to the most expensive theater around! Plus you got $6 in free milk! The only thing you can hope for is cheaper cereal but this is not a bad deal at all! I am really hoping to find the boxes with movie codes.

All of the cereal at my store was jacked up-- more than $3 a box. I passed. Maybe if I wasn't so tired I would have tried to make it a good deal.

I did the deal 3 times today and the milk Q expires on the 11th. Plus even though the Q says milk on it, for me it took the entire $6 off no matter what I bought with it. So If I purchased a half gallon of milk for $1.99 and a bunch of other things it still gave me $6 off!
Now does anyone know if the Q rolls? Like if I bought milk and more cereal with the Q would I still get another $6Q?

Mine from today expires on 11/11. Also, a friend of mine said the Hy-Vee on EP True and Grand had some General Mills for $2.29. She didn't say which kind and I didn't see it for myself, but maybe something to check out.

I did this deal on 10/27 and my $6 milk Q expires 11/10 so I'm guessing based on when you make your cereal purchase it will print with an expiration date 2 weeks out.

i don't have any more $1/2 q left but even w/o them with $6 for milk is good deal,specially you can use it for anything,doesn't have to be milk...and johnston hyvee has smart energy saver bulbs on sale(hyvee) brand for ..99c.....there is also peeler for $1 on schick disposable razor...if i remember it right it's like $7.99-$1-$3q so it comes down to $3.99...good luck....

I'm in MO and we're getting a $6 OYNO cat instead of the milk deal. Awesome!

I figured out that the $10 Q amounts to 1.66 off each box, plus the $6 cat figures to another $1 off per box. So in my head, I subtract 2.66 off the reg price of each, and see if the manufacturer Q I have brings it down to a price I like. We go through TONS of cereal (8 kids) and live in the Land of No Doubles, so I was very happy to get some healthy cereal for a good price. (Yes, I'm the mean mom that doesn't buy sugary cereal. Or when I do, I make the kids mix it with healthy stuff. )
