A change to their coupon policy

I was looking around online and saw this:

5/14/2009

Hy-Vee Coupon Policy

Hy-Vee is happy to redeem your coupons. The following guidelines apply when presenting manufacturers’ coupons clipped from newspapers or magazines, received by mail, or obtained legitimately from the Internet:

The coupon must be legible.
The coupon must have a scannable bar code (UPC) and a remittable manufacturer’s address.
Coupons with an expiration date must be used within the stated time frame. Expired coupons will not be accepted.
Only one manufacturer coupon per item will be accepted; however, a customer may use a manufacturer’s coupon in combination with a Hy-Vee coupon on the same item.
Coupon values that exceed the price of the item will not be accepted.
Soft drink container caps will be accepted.
Due to the unfortunate rise of counterfeit activity, the following two additional guidelines apply to Internet coupons:

Manufacturer coupons that involve any kind of free product will not be accepted, including “buy one, get one free” offers.
No coupon that exceeds $2.50 will be accepted.

I've not had any trouble redeeming coupons such as these lately...just thought I'd let ya know.

I saw this last week and was bummed because I frequently can get something for free with a coupon there. I'm sad that they won't allow it. Guess for those things, I'll just price match at Walmart.....

This is only for Internet coupons. You can still use free coupons, just not free or b1g1 that you printed online.

Yep, that's right. Today I even tested it out with a $3.50 off internet printable that I got mailed from bricks that came directly from the manufactor's website, so I knew it was legit, but they didn't want to take it. I had a back up coupon for the same coupon that wasn't a printable for $3.00 so it was fine.

Even before she saw that coupon she was being overly observant on every one of my coupons, when she usually just scans without much thought. So they must be getting a little more pickier.

I gave them my free 2 liter Dr Pepper coupon that was mailed out but looks like IP. They started to refuse it but I told them it was mailed. They looked at it again and saw the address and took it.

Coupon over price of product

Of course, there was a $1 coupon on those so I used them.. Went to the register and the coupon beeped. But the Shift Super or Ast. Manager came over and told the cashier if coupon is not expired, we take them, just NFS to 99 cents (price modify). Took all my coupons...

This is YMMV on the clearance.. I've checked out 3 other Hy-Vees around my neighborhood and no clearance..
