I've been diligent about working in my office at home lately. I watch a movie (stupider the better - ben stiller is a favorite) on the computer for background noise... I work awhile filing and throwing out items, then when I am ready to quit,
I quit!! I am a paper hoarder and trying to mend my ways. :-)
I am not counting new mail that comes into the house in my lists below. I am talking about 5 years or so of avoiding filing. One of the papers I threw out was a $6 receipt from Kmart from 2006!

I started with 4 paper boxes of items to go through... I'm down to 2. (tried to attach pics, my cell phone was acting up - will try again later).

Here's my new list:

6 business cards
1 outdated phone book
230 pieces of paper
173 pieces of paper
1 expired sunscreen
2 blank check registers (never use them)

Threw out 467 items!!!!

New total: 92!!!!
That means I have thrown out over 1900 items since starting this challenge.
Yeah!!!!!
Never thought I could find that many things to get rid of.

29 plastic grocery bags

Gave away 5 cardboard boxes and 1 plastic bin to a friend who is moving. (and they aren't coming back)

That's 65 more items. Only 27 to go and I will teach the goal. Yeah!!!!!

I reached my goal of throwing out 2012 items in 2012 last week (end of April).
Yeah!!! The final total was 2043.
Decided to make my next goal 3000 items gone.

I worked a good portion of the weekend in my office - threw out lots of paper!!

I also "unliked" about 1/2 of my pages on Facebook.
I'm not counting this in my total but it's another form of clutter that is gone (mental clutter).

Good idea on the facebook pages! I need to do that too. I often "like" something just to get a coupon and really don't need to hang on to them after that. They just clutter up my newsfeed unnecessarily.

I also need to declutter my email! I belong to a lot of newsletters and blogs and it gets overwhelming. I'll have to make some hard choices I guess.
