Same here, I used to do them when the payout was $5 per survey. I also had let a couple lapse due to not having a computer at that time and then I just didn't get any more invitations. I've been trying to sign back up but hasn't been successful.

Also, I've read on another site that people were having problems with a program they were asked to install and apparently it was rather insisted upon to download/install it. Supposedly, someone sent the program to an independent firm & discovered it was flawed whereby it may allow some virus to crash & kill your computer. Some people downloaded but didn't 'install' it & it seemed ok.

I love Pinecone, I signed up about 1 1/2 mos ago and it's been awesome. I've done numerous paid questionaires and have gotten a product to test already!

I've been doing Pinecone surveys and product testing for about 5 years. They are great! A lot of survey companies are not worth the hassle. Pinecone is top ranked.

I also do the Pincone surveys and just got a check today They pay out FAST and the survey's are easy. I haven't got any products to test but hope they send some to me soon

stupid question ---- do you have to pay taxes on the money you make from this at tax season?? Is it something you have to claim?

I don't think I've ever made that much to have to report it. Years back I won $2,500 at a slot machine in a casino and had to give in my social security # for tax purposes. I believe the dollar amount is somewhere in that ball park for reporting purposes at least most definitely in New York.

best to consult a CPA or tax attorney but most companies dont report payout unless it is 300 or 600 or more over the year.

I agree with the other responses. I know with mystery shopping, unless you earn somewhere between 600-800 from one company, then they report it. otherwise, you are considered and independent contractor and do not have to report it since the company does not.

This is actually incorrect. It does not matter whether the company sending the money reports it to the IRS or not; all earned income technically must be reported. The paying company is only required to report at a certain level, but you are required to report everything. Is the IRS going to come after you for a few dollars of undeclared income? Probably not. Can they? Absolutely!

It is up to you to determine your level of risk as to whether you report or not. Remember, they couldn't get Al Capone until they finally nailed him on tax fraud, LOL!

I signed up for this a few months ago. So far only 2 paid surveys. Got a bunch of mini non paid ones. Did them all but in the 4 months or so since I signed up I have made 6.00 so no worrying about taxes here.

They did do something last week that I DID NOT like. They know I have teenage (underage) daughters and asked if they can have them do a survey that might be personal and have personal questions. I went on to see what it was about and it said survey was over. This was only hours after I go the email so maybe they got flack about minors doing surveys. No way would I let my daughter do a personal survey that they did not want me answering questions to.

Anyone else get that survey??

I used to do these- but I got way too many unpaid ones that were very repetitive... so I opted out. I do the "she speaks" stuff now and love all the free samples I get with coupons.

The survey company will only ask your SSN if you made more than $600. They required to report for any non-employee making over $600 to IRS by using the tax form 1099 and 1096. (1099 is for you, 1096 is the summary of all the non-employees' earnings over $600)

I don't remember how long it took to hear from them, but even if you do don't expect surveys right away and expect many that you won't get paid for. I am doing it, but its not what I expected. Since August I have gotten 3 paid surveys and about 6 or more no paid. No samples, coupons or anything else. Don't know what it depends on.
