Two steps forward, two steps back. Just call me Paula Abdul. I didn't get much done the last couple of days since I was feeling... drained... as Em put it. I've also been picking music for & choreographing our preschool music camp for church. We'll be filming the instructional DVD tomorrow. Thanks to my sweet hubs, the kitchen is still in maintenance mode. I have kept up the laundry. Just need to put a stack away. I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed by the month of July. So much on the calendar already!

Hey everyone! Those storms were intense. It took 24 hours to get my internet back. It's insane how much my family relies on the net. I have been picking up the yard since. Just incase anyone was worrying, I heard from Jen (Sassy). Her & Her family are okay. I'm just enjoying a lazy sunday, sitting on my bed, eating some chinese food, watching Madea Goes to Jail. . days like this. I'm going to try something new. I'm going to make my daily cleaning schedule the day before. Hopefully it helps. We'll see. First thing in the morning; -Start coffee -Start a load of laundry -Load dishwasher -Wash the crockpot dish -Put the roast in said crockpot *after all that, enjoy coffee and play on the interwebs, work on some paper work* -Fold laundry that's in the dryer, & rotate what's washer to the dryer Afternoon. -Wash & prep all the produce -Wipe counters down -Wipe stove down -S&S bathroom -Start another load of laundry -Sweep -Mop I really hope I can get it all completed. Fingers Crossed.

OK so I slacked off this weekend on clean and worked on the 'to do list' that never ends. Today we ran A BUNCH of errands! One of the things that we did was go to Lowes and get tint for our sliding glass doir that faces the east and lets a lot of heat in from morning sun. On my visit with my friend last night, she said she did this the weekend before and it is amazing the difference. Not the cheapest thing to do (50.00 for our door) but it is supposed to help in summer and winter. With most of the summer in triple digits, I have to find a new way to reduce the AC bill. Sooo, I have cleaned the glass really good and I am ashamed to admit that I haven't done this (really good at least) since the first year we lived here (been here 6 or 7 yrs now) but my DH and I did get a good laugh out of it though! I hope to have this put on tonight. I am happy to say that DH has realized my cleaning and has started picking up a little here and there (vs NEVER lifting a hand unless he was mad and needed to prove a point!!) Hope everyone had a good weekend! |

Wow! Big list Liibyz, good luck! Sounds like you had a nice day today. Mmmmmmm...Chinese food, wish I had some right now. ![]() Ok everyone. If your interested in following the Flylady schedule, the new habit of the month for July is Swish & Swipe. You can read all about that here: (scroll down to day 24) 31 Days of Baby Stepping Through Flylday!! So, I challenge you to continue keeping up with the kitchen, adding S&S, and take 15 minutes to work on your favorite place you like to have clean. Stop in and let me know what that place is.

Did a few dishes today, did a load of laundry, kept the table cleared and dressed, washed my children, cooked 2 major meals, ticked off my DH (not sure how that happened, but, whatever) lamented the state of DDs room, but ruled against dealing with it to tonight, made homemade granola bars (1st time!) and am now avoiding ticked off DH because I'm ticked off in return due to his juvenile behavior Ok, ok, I'll tell the story. First: the dryer wasn't working. Turned out, the gas was off down in the basement. Second: once turned on, I realized there was a seeping leak because I smelled gas every time I went past it. Third: I asked DH to look into it first thing this AM so that he'd have plenty of time to do it today. Fourth: he spent the entire day with his PS3, hunting garlic in his game. I asked him about the dryer twice, trying not to nag. So. Fifth: as he's getting ready to watch his movie (8:30pm) I ask him to fix the dryer because it's not safe (gas leak, dryer, children, etc) and he immediately gets flamed, starts banging around, pushing stuff around, scratches up my beautiful floor with the dryer, etc. Sixth: after much ridiculous behavior "fixing" the dryer, he leaves the dryer blocking me into the bathroom, leaves the vent unattached and the dryer unplugged. I have to ask him to move the dryer (after trying unsuccessfully to move it myself) and he nearly picks the thing up and throws it back in its place (he IS freakishly strong) but doesn't finish hooking the thing up! Seventh: so. I just hang the clothes on the line anyway. NOW he's ticked off and so am I. I very well may find better things to do tonight than lay out his work clothes and make his lunch. Maybe. I really try hard not to fight and always try to see things from his perspective so I know he's anticipating a hard day of work tomorrow and wants to start his (supposed to be OUR) movie with enough time to finish before bed, but I still don't think it's unreasonable to ask him to fix something that I can't that is dangerous (it's a GAS LEAK, for Pete's sake!) and don't want the kids breathing that in for another day just so he can watch a silly movie!! I know he just thought it was a seep, no biggie, but I'm fairly certain it was the culprit for my headaches the past 2 days. I never get them and only got them after the gas was turned on. Speculative, of course, but weird. Wow. Sorry for the rant. I'm sure we'll deal with this before bed. We always do. Hoping for a good, checked off list tomorrow. Here's hoping.

Well storms hit (winds up to 70 mph, rain, thunder, lightning & tornado warning) and knocked the power out........30 minutes before the chicken I had cooking in the oven was supposed to be done Didn't get power back on till about 9:30pm so nothing really got done today and ended up having to run out after the storm passed to get dinner for me and the kids, then run dinner to DH at work. Need to run the dishwasher and then that will be it. I'll try and catch up tomorrow.

Well, he took care of the dryer after the movie without being asked, so he's semi-forgiven. He gets his lunch and clothes privileges back. For some reason he's still miffed, but after 9 years of marriage (next week--yea, us!) sometimes we just have to sleep it off. See y'all in the AM...

Must be in the air because I ticked off DH too. I am the bread winner in our house, although he doesn't make too shabby money either. He doesn't like the heat resistant tint because it has a slight reflection to it so he was mad about having to help put it up. So I attempted to do it on my own and it drove him crazy (I know how to make it look like it will be a disaster without actually doing it). He started in with his 'help' but had an attitude. I finally whipped out the 'I can't afford a 400.00 electric bill so you have 3 options: 1) help me without the attitude 2) turn off all your precious computers to save electricity or 3) give up something so you can pay the bill instead of me! After a little stomping around, I have one window almost covered and one cut and we will cover it tomorrow due to the lateness.

up at 5 to get mom to Test at hospital by 7. round 2 of checking the circulation in her legs. They are using dye today. Such fun. Hubby is staying with DS. This should be a riot of horror stories when we get home. Cause I know DS will wake up a couple hours before DH wants too... Wish them luck!! I am planning on no cleaning today cause i have to idea how long this test will take. i packed a sandwich and am taking a drink. My poor mom thought she could get up at 6 and be there by 7, i woke her at 5:30 and she still isn't even moving yet. I know we would have been late on her timetable.

Amanda - I hope your Mom's test goes well! ![]() Em - Glad the gas leak is fixed and hope that some sleep smoothed everything over! ![]() Libby - You are motivating me to get moving and get something accomplished! Way to go on your list!!! ![]() CouponKody - I hope your windows turn out the way you want and that it makes a huge difference on your heating/cooling bill! ![]() Jennifer - Alright... My goal is to overcome my dislike of the S&S routine! I think part of my problem is that I can't leave a toilet bowl brush/container with an "already made" cleaning solution in it because of my curious (and mischievious!) 2 and 4-year olds!!! I have to keep everything like that out of reach right now. When I was doing this before, I had to drag it all out each morning. Any suggestions?! On a happy note, Jordyn (2) has successfully gone six days in a row without an accident in her "big girl" princess panties! Potty training days are almost over!!!!!!

Thanks, Susanne! As for the S&S suggestion. Someone else mentioned once that they fix their cleaning solution in one of those pitchers with a handle from the Dollar tree and keep it put up somewhere with the brush in it. Laundry room....might work? With the handle, it makes an easy way to carry from toilet to toilet. Any other suggestions out there?

Good morning ladies!!! We have no kids today (other than my own) so we all slept in! I got a lot of laundry done last night so only 2 loads to do today, have to clena the kitchen floor, wipe down the bathroom and check the walls for places that need a second coat. I'm going to start breakfast, I will talk to you soon!
