I'm curious! Are any of you as frustrated as me at Homeland for implementing this new no more than 1 transaction per trip policy? My dilema is that I not only shop for me but for my handicapped 88 year old grandmother and handicapped 64 year old mother. It used to be no trouble going in and doing 3 transactions but now having to pop in everyday is eating up alot of time. I have no time between work and being at home because I am trying to get a few deals shopping. I wonder have any of you talked with your store managers. I am going to visit with mine today. Any ideas would be welcome. My personal belief is that these stores are freaking out because of this Extreme Couponer show. The reality is that there aren't many of us out there when they do the math. Is it worth these stores getting so upset and ticking off their long term customers all to keep a few people from creating a stockpile. They do get paid afterall. It just takes processing some extra coupons. I'd love some feedback! |

It would be a good idea to talk to store management and present your case about shopping for 3 HH. If store management is reasonable, they will acquiesce although they have to do it for others who are in the same situation like you. They cannot do it selectively for a few customers because once others find out that they're bending the rules, they will get more complaints that will be difficult for them to handle. People will complain about favoritism once it leaks that they are accommodating a few customers and allowing them several trxn while strict policy is applied to the rest. It can be a double edged sword for management so they have to weigh pros and cons, accordingly. For now, try talking to them and X your fingers they'd be receptive to your needs. If NOT, you can either go find other stores willing to work with you or just learn to adapt to their policy. We just have to accept for now that we have to live with the effects of EC, most of which are negative ![]() Good luck and let us know if you talk with management.

There were some people in Pauls Valley that were going back in the store time and time again and they were filling up the back of a van. They were reselling the "free" stuff. So, I would blame the local people doing this more than the show.

I'm telling you it's all these bloggers teaching coupon classes. Everywhere I go there are these people with these huge coupon binders and boxes with that glazed over newbie look It's freaking ridiculous.

Lol you saw me last weekend didn't you? I have also been disappointed when I go shopping to find the whole shelf wiped out. Really, IMO get what you will use in the next few months and share with others.

| I've seen the exact same thing. I'm happy that others are learning to coupon and save money, but a selfish part of me wants the goods for myself! haha I think more and more people are trying to find ways to save money so they have to do something. I can totally relate!

I started just before the show came out, and I didn't see any binders until the show aired...they then were EVERYWHERE! but as a newbie I don't have alot of room to talk, but I am not a shelf clearer!!!

I had to get rainchecks at all 3 HL stores I went to today! I wasn't the only one getting rainchecks either. It was hard enough finding stuff on the shelves before EC. I must say the selfish part of me is hoping that many of the newbies will get tired of all the work it takes and give up after awhile. |

I think it is like with anything where a certain amount of etiquette is severely lacking. Couponing, in of itself isn't causing a problem but it's the select few that are cheating or being greedy that are ruining it for the rest of us. Admittedly, I started because of the show but had no desire to be the way they are. I just want to save money on groceries and maybe have a mini-stockpile. I've always wanted to do it but didn't know the now effective way. The show helped mainly in pointing me to internet sites that helped. |

I heard there was a woman at FP HL that wanted to do 17 separate transactions at 5pm. I think that story plus what we may not know is the reason they are implementing a more strict policy. I coupon for others also and it does make it harder, but the prices are worth it.

Common sense would have been to tell her no. They already had the policy in place. Why didn't they use it?

I used to coupon years ago, and recently started again. Not because of the show, but because we are pretty strapped right now, and are expecting baby #4. We've had to try to save anyway we can. The only thing I'm doing differently is shopping the drug stores. I've never shopped them before, and AFC is a huge help in understanding all of it. I run into alot of cashiers and other people who ask if I'm extreme couponing. It bothers me. I'm not. I don't buy more than 4 of anything, and I break my transactions up. I never have more than 25 or so items at the grocery store, and only a few at the drug stores. I'm trying to think of those in line behind me, but I still get an uncomfortable feeling. I even go late at night to avoid the lines of shoppers who may be waiting on me to check out. It's a miracle if I find any item I need on the shelf at CVS or RIte Aid. My Wags is a bit better.
