This week the stores that I shop out was out of a few things so I asked for a raincheck. One store said to come back tomorrow because the truck will be coming and another store said they do not give them until the last day of the sale. Personally I think this is kind of weak. They said corporate said they are writing to many rainchecks. ANybody else hear this??

No, I haven't heard this, but then I haven't gotten a raincheck for a couple of weeks.

which I don't think is right because what if you don't live close to a HL then you have to go back just for a raincheck.

I was told this too, this is a big inconvenience to me and to other customers too, hope they know this are maybe they just don't care.

They're most likely making it up.

They might be trying to help you by saying it will be in stock the next day but it could be against the law.

The idea that they are "issuing too many rain checks" is not your problem. They need to keep more stock on hand instead.

I could care less myself. I'd probably never push the issue unless it was for a high value item.

If you lived further away and knew you wouldn't be back before the sale is over, just let them know and make them give you one since you won't be back. If you're going to be back several times during the sale I wouldn't worry about it until near the end.

The S. Penn Homeland told me this as well, except that they wouldn't give rainchecks until Monday, which is when their truck comes in. And this on a week where the shelves were cleared on half the things I wanted to buy. :P Between that and the fact that they've started to not double DND5 coupons, I think I will be shopping less at Homeland and more at the Commissary, unless it's a really good sale week.

I would be talking to the Store Manager.......not cashiers!
and if Store Manager can not rectify the situation, then I would put a call into Corporate :-)

I seldom get rainchecks, cause it takes them sooo long to write one, or the cashier INSISTS that I have to go to the office ( and WAIT in line again????.......NOOOOOOOPE!)

That is the store I shop at too. They have also started to match coupons up to items as they scan them too, which I dont have a problem with it just takes a lot longer. They won't let you use the $5/25 coupon either unless u spend $25 after coupons.

I was told this, too. I hope they don't start doing the same with the $5/50s or I will have wasted lots of money on Entertainment Books!

Be mentally prepared for more of this, Matching Up Q's.

There is a whole bunch NEW Q shoppers, and some are getting thier info from the wrong places, and are/will make it more difficult on the rest of us.
( its not just at HL, its everywhere!)

I think the matching is more about the fact that they've got a bunch of new cashiers in training right now. I hope that this is just because I'm shopping at different times and not because they fired all the old ones for doubling DND5s! O_O

I tried a couple of Homelands in Norman today, and I think my new store is going to be the Main & Berry store. It didn't have the shelf-clearing problems that the Robinson store or S. Penn had, so I shouldn't have to worry too much about the rainchecks.

My friend that lives in Moore, OK said her Homeland is only doing rain cheks on Tuesday and maybe Monday's. Tuesday forsure not so sure about monday's. Said something about the trucks coming in also and they were giving to many rain checks and the customers were using them at a different homeland store. I live in Bartlesville,OK and haven't had to get a rain check in a long time so i'm not sure here.

That sounds like S. Penn. Why not just write the location on the raincheck?

The Ardmore store said rain checks on the last day of the sale only as well. They said they have trucks coming before the end of the sale & I could return & buy it then.
